You don't have to blitz every down, in fact any OC worth a shit (at Seasoned at least) will destroy any defense that blitzes every down. My Offensive gameplanning this season for DD was to check to see if the team blitzed every down, if they did I was almost ensure an easy victory.

Oh, and fwiw Xav, on your complaints about double coverage getting beaten. The only play from our game that really, really stuck out as an obvious offender was this:

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/54835/3523394

At first glance, that's outrageous! But then you look at the WR's energy/morale, and compare it with the FS and SS tasked with handling him. Since both the FS and SS might as well have been functionally deceased, there's a whole lot of "builds matter" with a touch of "maybe only taking 3 safeties and using 3-3-5 to cover 4WR a bunch is a risky idea" going on in that play.

I think we caught one other ball deep outside against the Cover 2 where the safety simply didn't get there in time. Which happens sometimes.

It's different once you hit seasoned as even the bad builds can beat a non-all-in blitz. (85 speed LB's for example). But by doing so you're giving up any hope of ever stopping a run game.

I think you and I may be playing different games, the only time I blitz to stop the running game is on very short situations where I'm willing to gamble with Middle Overload.

Fact.

Just look at adderfist's two game gig as DC with Hawaii. That didn't last long.

even though it won't end up that way, Hawaii and HBurg SHOULD end soph ladder #2 and #3

no reason to think the best in Oberan can beat either of the top two in Mars.

HBurg will finish maybe #5 or #6 which is total BS especially since we've only lost to two different teams this season (Hawaii and Salty)... we can beat and HAVE beat anyone else

GLB gods hate us yet again... I wonder if I did something to piss off Bort/corndog

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WTF are two same-league opponents playing each other in the final ladder game... it should be Lounge vs Hawaii, Atlantic/Air Raid vs HBurg

this goes against EVERYTHING we've been told about how ladder games are decided in the code

I like the 1vs2 and 3vs4 matchup for the last ladder game just kinda a shitty draw this week, especially since I don't even think someone can overtake the #1 in the tier. Salty just got to pad their way up into the global ranks from playing the same teams over and over and I think they're a little out of reach being 20 global ranks ahead of everyone else.

yeah, was really hoping we'd land Harrisonburg for the final ladder. I wanna put the so-called best pass rush in sophomore to the test

and don't even get me started on salty... they would be within range and would be playing (and probably beating down) LL in the last ladder game if they didn't pull that miracle out of their @$$es against us last ladder game... we would have been #1 going into the Hawaii game, and instead now could land outside the top 5.... just total BS

we have been told before same-league opponents wouldn't play in a ladder game if other teams were within a ranking of 10. Either it's been changed or corndog/bort was full of crap when they said that.

Salty should be playing seasoned, LL/Hawaii or HBurg, and so on

could be an interesting game... I'm sure it'll happen next season

we haven't lost to a pass-heavy team since Atlantic City (final 9-3) back towards the end of Season 2 (March 16th)

only other time I've ever lost to a pass-heavy team was Zorp earlier that S2 when they were hammering everyone

thats actually good to hear. I personally prefer coverage to heavy blitzing and letting my front 4 create the pressure.

In case you're curious, the Lost Lounge - Harrisonburg game was prolly the single biggest factor in my firing our QB at the time and getting Yukiko. He only completed 39.5% of his passes that game, which when you pass as much as we do, kills an offense.

Needless to say, Yukiko is an improvement in that area, and when we get our rematch (cuz ya know it's inevitable), the game should be a lot closer. In the meantime, I get to DC against the single best WR in GLB2 (and ya, that includes seasoned WR's) and a team that's figured out that using dual QB's makes offensive morale death spirals virtually disappear.

um, I thought this was common knowledge like early on last season?

Why I ran a dual last season, and was originally tempted to try to bring in Yukiko and Droppin as two S* on the same team next season

and the low completion percentage was due to the QB some, but also our D... I run a "special sauce" with a few attributes on my hardcore pass rushers that most people don't
