I loved that one

Especially after your comeback in the last game where we also had what seemed to be a comfortable lead.

Not for sure what we could do differently, the only time I can stop your passing is when your WR beats my CB off the line and I'm trailing behind. When my guy is running step for step or playing over the top your WR catches it. Guess I'm gonna have to figure a way to slow my CBs down a step or 2.

Hehe, there are definitely some quirks in pass coverage. Curious how everything will work out when builds are getting rounded off. Hopefully downfield passing will be more difficult.

Poor Time Trial only had the ball for 16 minutes, lol

I was impressed w/ the lack of pancakes, though. TT investing in some 'different' areas than the mainstream? In terms of most pancakes I have #1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 14, 17, and 18 in the Gorilla league, lol. The matchup tab puts me at 665 pancakes, which I think might be most in GLB2 right now.

Yeah, I think it might be time to draw up some new plays. I've been running the same two playbooks on O and D (2 each) for a full season now. My bots today don't resemble the bots I was considering when I crafted those playbooks.

But yeah, since I don't have any input on what everyone else is doing, I can't speak to why I would be pancaked more or less than any other team. Could also be just because I didn't keep many players in the box, so you had fewer engagements with LBers who would be easier pancakes than d-line. Part of the reason is that I like to let people run into my SS and FS, both of whom are designed to either power FF or strip FF. Part of the reason was that I wanted extra help on the outside, but your outside running game proved that wasn't the answer either.

Also I'm still passing out of a bunch of formations that successful teams aren't. I think CornBlade and Bort'sDaggers need to take a look at the passing game and figure out why so many formations aren't viable for passing out of.

Part of the reason - sets with a fullback include an often poor pass catcher, who can't easily be held in to block.

Making it easier to hold in a blocker or two from the I form would make for fewer sacks, fewer hurries, and more viable formations in the passing game, while increasing build diversity.

Build Diversity? All it does is make the All Pass teams build pass block only full backs and half backs

Yes, which would be another set of builds that do not currently exist.

And on non-All Pass teams, it would give a reason to have the HBs, FBs, and TEs actually invest a few points in the pass blocking skills. Right now, those are a total waste.

In a balanced sim, passing and running will both be good, so good teams will do both - and if you only pass or only run, your team is easy to scout, easy to stop.

Right, but it is not easy to stop, so don't give them incentive to continue exploiting.

I agree - right now, pure pass is overpowered. But there will (should?) be balancing, and at that point...blockers should be able to be kept home. In the current sim, passing with 2 backs is really just there to keep teams "honest".

passing is only overpowered because db/wr interactions are broken and it's easy to take advantage of that. defense plays cover 2? run hook routes and slow developing ins because the dbs can't stop and recover consistently enough to hold you under 60% completion. defense plays cover 1 or man? run go routes, unders and hitches because you can get big chunks as your wrs adjust to the ball and the dbs keep running.

It's only that way because passing is so OP. Don't forget that the best passing teams don't use the 2RB forms that much..
