Graz Grizzlies vs. Brazilian Dirty Sanchez
Number 1 versus number 2. An epic game in any league.....might as well be world league. Let me start with the facts. The game was a score banger but BDS could not keep up with the relentless Grizzlies offense. It was exciting!!! It had action and adventure....and errors too. But IMHO, it was just not BDS' day. I do agree that there was no "self-sanchez-ing" here, but still, there was a Grizzlies statement made here along with a big loss taken by BDS. It was close all they way through the mid third , but then BDS started trading TD's for FG's and you cannot win a game like that. So BDS took it on the chin. But we knew that!!! No BEZERKING seen. Well played by the Grizzlies. Well played!!!! This just may be their year!!! Was a great game!!! GL each team going forward.


Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated vs. Ultimate Fighting Championship

But time and player age has other plans. Just did not get those few breaks you needed. Jokes are made, but we saw the heavy layer of experience out there. We know the real deal when we see it. Thought it would be a blowout (My bad!!!), but real champs do go out like chumps and give up. A very good attempt and good game Mr. DPRIDE and UFC!!! A good game indeed!!! And good game to DoI. Never underestimated them for a minute. Smart Coaching!!!!!!
Now I am left paying the fine to the fire department for the false alarm!!!!!



South Side Mafia vs. Honolulu Hurricane Wife Carriers
HHWC is back!!! Let's ask the fans....... WE BELIEVE!!!! WE BELIEVE!!!!
Lots of HHWC fans would be disappointed here with a loss...NOT!!!!!! But not just a win, but a GLORIOUS WIN!!!!! HH - HOORAY!!!!! HH - HOORAY!!!! Let's take a look back.... The standard prediction had South side by 6 over HHWC in this game. And my experts concurred with this prediction. HHWC won by 22 Man were we off. Not deep...but still cold. HHWC had their game together in all phases while SSM made too many mistakes. Maybe it was something in the nachos. GG HHWC. SSM, you need to work on that defense. Way too many missed tackles in this game.



Coxsackie HOOD Hugos vs. OffTopica Miracle
Coxsackie came out and applied their new drug OFFTOPICA to the Offtopica team!!!! Interesting??!!! 23 to 6 was bigger than the point spread in the prediction. Nothing really here to say. GG Coxsackie!!!! OffTopica, you may want to rub that ointment in good and prepare for the next game. 13th place gives you an excellent view of the bottom....which is not where you want to be. I told you to Dig deep...I know you found something...but it was not a win!!!! So sorry!!!! GG Coxsackie!!!!



Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry vs. STEEL City Mafia
ALERT!!!! Hogwarts beats the STEEL by three times the score!!! I guess the overwhelming evidence was....overwhelming!!! GG Hogwarts!! Sorry Steel!!! Look towards the next game. Win that, and we can forgettaboutit!!!!! GG Hogwarts!!!



Cincinnati Shockers vs. District 9 Prawns
here is what I said.... The Prawns have nothing to lose and that makes them dangerous. Word on the street is that if the Prawns win here, the shockers will be out of the playoffs or at least unfit. Prawns did it. Went the distance into OT and puller the rabbit with 1 sec. Either the Prawns would do it here or in the next game. They did it here!!!! Me thought it would be the next game. They did it here!!! Prawns by 3 over Cincinnati!!!!!! The did it here!!!! well done!!!! Well done!!! Not expected and very, very shocking!!!! GG both teams!!!!


Moose Jaw Roughriders vs. Porto People Eaters
Nothing to see here. Moose Jaw lost big. Porto won more than barely!!! And still......Nothing changed!!! Did someone say .......Ni!!!!???


E-City Mercenaries vs. Definition of Insanity
DoI by 30. Mercs falling!!!!! I cannot watch!!!!! Either way does not look good. Nothing to report!!!

he World League writeup......................(the playoffs are here!!!!!)

Let's start with the Irresistible Truths (named after yours truly).

1. Winning a perfect season in pro does not guarantee a playoff spot in World League.
2. A perfect season in WL may mean you put forth your best effort but it does not mean you win all your games or make the playoffs.
3. Do not cry on the WL forums because there is no pity.
4. A perfect regular season in WL does not mean you will win 1 playoff game.
5. Prayers to the SIM god will no longer be heard on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.


Here is the writeup/predictions for the World League Playoffs (Alpha).


Honolulu Hurricane Wife Carriers
This team was in position 5 last year starting the playoffs and won it all. The early predicitons said this was the team to beat this season and put them in position 1 starting into the playoffs. The conference was renamed the HHWC conference this season (unofficially) and once again here they are in the playoffs. The owner, ufshowboat (GLB'r since Mar 2008), still has the show going strong and is looking to make this a 2-peat. I don't think there is a 3-peat but I would have to defer to the sage WL archives for clarification. But I digress. GL going into the playoffs. Some luck is always needed in WL playoffs as anything can happen, but I think this team has a plan that is in full effect. We will see. We will see.



Brazilian Dirty Sanchez
Uuuuughhh WTF? What happened? Inquiring minds want to know. Came out strong in the beginning. Dead bodies everywhere. 7-1 at the halfway point with the only loss to Steel City. And then 1-7 for the rest of the season with the only win over Moosejaw. REALLY? REALLY??? The fans want to know. This team has a lot of character and I just cannot believe......... But I digress. I said that fate has a way of rearing up every now and then with SIM changes and where secret adjustments are suspected throughout the season. It just is always tough to not make the playoffs in WL. Remember when you cooked the Prawns?? That was great. Oh... the glory days. Gone for a few seasons now. You are still one of my favorite teams. GL in the future.



Graz Grizzlies
I said it before but it needs to be re-stated!!! The owner, Disastermaster (GLB'r since 3/2008) has been deeee - stroy - ing teams for some time now. When they win they get mad. When they lose, they get madder. Like a team of pissed-off incredible hulks. Well done this season Grizzlies. Remember in game 3, the Shockers won and then ran out the stadium........??? Well they are back in playoff game 1. Revenge would be sweet here and definitely justified. Advice: A first round loss in the number 1 position hurts more. The goal is to get to Coxsackie and get the "precious" back that they stole from you last season. GL Grizzlies, you will need it.



Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Last season you lost in the first round against Coxsackie. This season it is South Side standing in your way. South Side is a worthy opponent in my book and are prepared to give you a great game!!! The owner Hays23 owns 2 WL teams. Kinda like left twix vs right twix. But you are going to have to combine the sides to win. Divided you fall. But I digress. Early on my experts said, "The reason this team does not completely dominate the game is because they assume that the SIM has no flaws. And it is these flaws in the SIM that cost them." Seems you have made the adjustments, But in the regular season you lost, even with a min-helmet, to this team. Get it together man!!!! They ain't playin' to lose!!!! GL in the playoffs. This will be a good game!!!.


Cincinnati Shockers
The owner MadMustaff, , I know this guy. need no introduction. Another owner with 2 teams in WL. Played yourself in the first game. Main goal was to make the playoffs and you did. Just barely but if a W is a W then making the playoffs is making the playoffs. Well done in the last 3 games. We will see if you can duplicate that win in game 3 against the number 1 seed. I was impressed I must say. No Force-formula advantage here. However, the CIN-Shock effect seems to have been perfected. GL in the first round.



Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated
This team is owned by TruthHammer, and the truth hurts. You beat Steel City in game 9 and are looking to confirm that win in the first round of the playoffs. No advice here as your record speaks for itself. Early predictions had you in position 9 not making the playoffs. My experts do apologize. We blame the SIM but what do I know. Had I known then what I know now, I would have put you in position 3. But I digress. You season record is impressive but it does not guarantee a free pass in round 1. GL out there today!!!


Ultimate Fighting Championship
Dpride59, what can I say. You made your point.
You did very well with what you had to work with....IMHO. If anyone could have pulled it off, it would have been you. I am sure we have not seen the last of you and jd. Much respect. No advice going forward, just GL in the future.


Offtopica Miracle
There are only so many miracles to go around. You got a few but not enough to make it to the playoffs. Lots of new players, agents , plays, and formations. Seems it was too much to get all in sync. But it was a good attempt. We expected to see some mini-helmet games that never came. Maybe you are building up to come back in two seasons. Either case, GL to you sir and this team in the future!!!!


STEEL City Mafia
Mr. 7steeladonis has pulled it off. Pulled a 7th seed in a 3-way tie with an 8-8 record. Did not see that coming. Early predictions had you in position 12. But you did it. Beat the odds. Right off the sweat on you back. Please note that the Prawns wanted to dash your hopes in game 16. That was a do or die win. And you did!!!! Well done!!! Your OC was not to be taken lightly and got you here. Never heard from the orbical.... Good Luck in game 1, you will need it!!! but then, you knew that already!!!


E-City Mercenaries
We felt this team should have made the playoffs. Early predictions had this team in position 11. They finished in position 11, but they seem to have went into auto pilot during the middle of the season. Not sure why that happened but it made the difference in why they did not make the playoffs. GL in the future. That is all I got.


Coxsackie HOOD Hugos

Early predictions had you going to the playoffs in position 8 as we had you with one of the hardest schedules in Alpha.....I mean the HHWC conference, as any losses would compound. And you did well early in the season and through the use of strategic mini-helmets. But beware as many teams are looking for payback in the playoffs. The Grizzlies want their "precious" back that you stole last season. No cake walk this season.!!!! Good luck going into the playoffs.


Definition of Insanity
What a team name. Cannot blame you for the win or the loss. Interesting. But the string of losses mid-season was a back breaker. We did say you had a 5 game gauntlet of pain ending with HHWC in game 10. Loss all six games. Can't say you were not warned. You can declare insanity, but I know it hurts. You came into WL like you should. GL in the future. It was a great run.


South Side Mafia
Lots of hard work and persistence went into this team. 4 game win streak at the end of the season has brought this team to the WL playoffs. Early predicitons had you in position 14. Very sorry about that. We actually let one of our experts go because of that. They did quit before we fired them, but we did it anyway so that we could say that we did something first. But I digress. We expected your schedule to get harder as the season progressed, but you really came through when you needed to. First round has you against Hogwarts. Will not be easy. Good Luck!!!


District 9 Prawns
No reason to hang your head down here. This team may not have made the playoffs, but they did some damage during their run. The wins against the shockers, Carthage, and Insanity were epic. My experts still think the Prawns are "lucky", if there is such a thing in GLB. WL is tough but you did it well. Gl in the future!!!!



Moose Jaw Roughriders
Now I know you guys have won it all before. Being former WL champions and all. This team just needs to re-group and decide when to fully compete again. Much respect and GL in the future. I am sure WL has not seen the last of you. And please don't hurt the pro teams too bad next season if you do not reset.


Porto People Eaters
The name, Tactical Genius, really is a great name that describes the owner and this team. What did I say? I said "This is WORLD LEAGUE!!! You fight till the end!!! Make the opponent pay for every yard you give up." Your wins took down BDS and E-City. Well done. They will remember you forever!!! GL in the future.
