I agree that there needs to be concrete rules for taking care of this, so people know what to expect. The answer I got when I asked support about it was that other teams "reached out" to support, so they got to stay instead of us. Not that I begrudge the other teams, but that seems like a weak way of resolving who stays and who goes.

Relatively concrete.

He didn't say illegal, or abstract. He said weak.

Maybe support didn't do what he said..but many of us who have dealt with them have had issues...why wouldn't support just point him to the FAQ and give that answer instead of "reached out". Support needs to give more concrete answers.

Um - he asked for concrete rules. They exist - there they are.
I had no idea those rules were in place until reading that post, though. Hopefully WL in general will be aware of those rules from here on out so this won't happen again.

That is pretty concrete. I missed that.. so basically, if I "reached out" to support, then the Garudas would have stayed. My fault for obtuse and not being aware of a well-known rule.

Yeah I certainly would of submitted a ticket had I known. I've been here since s1, owned the Garudas since S2, and have promoted/demoted from WL more than any other Owner in GLB, and I was not aware. Hope others learn from my mistake.

Obviously sarcasm in your post, but I feel your pain. It's definitely lame that the difference between WL and Pro is a damn PM.

One of us would have let fool know, but honestly I still didnt think support needed to be reached out to when Catch gave us this first answer

Always goes to the highest seeded non playoff teams from the World League from the conference that has the available slot. Been in the FAQ for a while now:

Granted one of us should have looked more into that second paragraph in the FAQ, but I figured it wasn't needed being that they were the highest seed in the conference of MPHD and Alpine wasn't even in that conference.

Shouldn't that be on support to contact the team first in line and ask if they want to stay? What, were they too busy with name change requests?

Yeah, seems like a huge cop-out by GLB. Would be relatively easy to just automate it with a message that says if you do NOT wish to stay in your league, please submit a support ticket otherwise you will stay.

who ended up staying in krungthep's place, did they send a support ticket in?

Tough call IMO - If you want logical decisions on your support staff then they made the right one. Alpine clearly makes the wl a better league than the Garudas. At the end of the day the Garudas have demoted more than any other wl team ever, and they did it again. I want the support team making decisions like this as it is better for the game.

Support told me that Krungthep would stay ahead of us if they just sent a PM. But from tautology (co-owner) I got the feeling that he wanted Alpine to stay since he thought that would make the WL better (not my words), so I didn't understand that Krungthep was hoping to keep their WL spot.

If Krungthep did in fact contact support to stay, and the rules state that they should have gotten the spot, it is very unfortunate that Alpine stayed. I really hope that is not the case.
