I will admit that the DB responses aren't all that good. But to be fair, most of the gold league is having good results b/c that's what the other team's defense is giving up. I actually like the fact that one base defense can't stop everything really well anymore. There should always be an advantage for those who spend the time scouting, and that should apply to defense as well.
Most DC's are focused on stopping other things, so that's what is open against a lot of teams. But this does NOT mean that you cannot stop them. There are teams that have stopped these plays very well. To do so may open other areas in their defense, but that's what scouting is for.

It is possible to eliminate most of those problems with the screen plays defensively I think.
These are low level DoTs so they are going to lack play recognition - all you can do is give them the best chance to make a stop with a combo of player build, DoT placement etc.
PWU hit me with quite a few screen plays and we shut them down for the most part or at least enough times to convince Auto-tune to stop calling them
It goes without saying that you can't stop those plays where the DB just runs off the field for no reason - although i've heard alot less about this in recent days - maybe the issue fades when the DoT gets a little older.....
Maybe DC's just moan more, or louder, or whatever but I like the screen plays and counters - teams have shut down the outside running game with DB placement (either by blitzing or zone) so you were left with low% passes or bashing it up the middle against DT's that make mincemeat of most O-lines.
agree with you both. Never said I, or anybody else, can't stop those plays. Was just using them for an example of a common gripe by many about this game
Yes they go away as the dot levels, but we still saw a little goofy DB shit last season with level 13 yes/yes dots in playoffs.
and I also agree that scouting is now king, and it makes for a more competitive game. just look how shuffled up the gold standings are right now. everybody has beat somebody who beat the person who beat them. uhh. that made sense when I wrote it. We (BNI) beat Crib, 85 Bears beat us, then Crib beat the Bears...for example. Lots of other examples this season, especially if you include the tournaments.
