He was also extremely vanilla in his schemes already, so this sim forcing defenses to go more that route didn't really affect him either.

More importantly, teams who try and go deep now fail miserably and put their d back on the field with about 45 seconds elapsing, and vs a team like MPHD who runs 2-4 yard plays all game long, it destroys your defense/morale, and when his D gets back on the field they are well rested and usually at 100 morale

Definitely harder to complete downfield passes and I certainly agree about the first part. As for "vanilla defenses," I run Cover 1, Cover 2, Cover 3, Zone under, Man under, 100%zone, 6 man blitzes...so I guess you must mean "not stupid" defenses when you say "vanilla."

Pretty much accurate, except for the fact that we have run 75 different plays so far this season and I don't think I have gone into any game with fewer than 30 potential playcalls in my basic AI packges (excluding come-back packages and that sort of thing).

No, I mean your defense has always been boring as shit to watch. Your defensive play-calls are probably the least varied of anyone in the WL, and have been for some time. Unfortunately the reality is that being vanilla on defense has always been a good idea (offense too, as Valhalla spammed a handful of great offensive plays back in the day), it's just not very much fun as a coordinator. Since you have the daunting task of doing everything yourself, though, I understand going the boring route. Plus it obviously works incredibly well with your well-rounded dots.

That depends on your perspective, I guess

No great argument with your other points though....

I actually think this is the most defensively oriented sim in several seasons.

I'm kind of conflicted by this statement. As a DC, I agree with you. Deep passes are much tougher to complete.

On the other hand, as an OC the Longhorns have been scoring a lot more points this season. I'm not a great OC by any means and really only started to OC the Longhorns in the middle of last season. It could be getting lvl 72 equipment and just not being lvl 70 anymore or I could have improved as an OC, but for whatever the reason we score more points this season.

I think a lot of people still haven't fully updated their defense from last year. Taut had mostly base Ds that covered most possibilities already so when he redid stuff in the preseason it wasn't as much a stretch for him. I think as the season goes on and maybe in the playoffs you'll see people finally round out their defensive plays and not leave some things really open

Shouldn't be on the list -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Le_IyYLrUtQ thus far. Just not a lot of monsoons in Texas. Dallas 56, TSW 3

This Led Zepplin song for bass is what should have been posted -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nl0FeA49k3A&feature=related

I always preferred this Primus song than that one you posted -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYDfwUJzYQg&feature=related
