Are you suggesting that we change our name, again?

WEEK 5 RANKINGS
LION

1 Somalia Pirates (5-0) - Great game against Philly that saw the Franklins take an early 3 point lead before Somalia put up the only TDs of the first half to go into halftime with an 8 point lead. Philly took a 2 point lead in the 3rd Q by posting 10 points to the Pirates 0 but Somalia came back early in the 4th and took the games final lead change. The last 2 minutes of the game saw 21 points scored with 2 TDs coming within 11 seconds on kickoff returns. Just an exciting game from start to finish.

2 Guyana Punch (5-0) - Still playing great ball and doing just enough to beat teams. Week 7 should prove interesting when they face San Diego.

3 CWE (4-1) - Should get by the Witch Doctors with ease before having to face the top ranked Pirates.

4 San Diego (4-1) - An easy game sets them up for playing Zambezi. Looking forward to that one but week 7 against Guyana holds my interest further since both teams got to APL last year.

5 Philly Franklins (3-2) - The Franklins played a hell of a game against Somalia but they're still just one game over .500 at this early stage of the season. With a softer schedule the next 6 weeks they should be able to push for a playoff spot but it's going to be a battle for homefield advantage.

6 Zambezi Silverbacks (3-2) - Strong win over the Outlaws but they'll have to play better than they did in week 4 if they want to beat the AquaBats next week.

7 Mega City Monsters (3-2) - Have rattled off 3 in a row after a opening 0-2. They have Philly up next which could easily be their toughest game yet. Will show a lot about this team there.

8 Oklahoma Outlaws (3-2) - A tough loss against Zambezi doesn't bode well with Guyana on tap.

9 Lincoln (2-3) - Solid win over Texas and if they can win their next 2 they'll be back over .500 in time to play Philly.

10 Nile River Assassins (2-3) - Nile is playing well this season and keeping some games close. They just need to get over the hump and they could sneak up on someone IF they make the playoffs.

11 Transylvania (2-3) - It's been back and forth with the wins and losses so they should get back to .500 next week. The following 4 games are some tough ones though.

12 Texas Longhorns (0-5) - Have a shot to pick up win #1 next week.

13 Nuremberg Nighthawks (1-4) - A strong 1st and 4th Q is just enough to get the Nighthawks their first win of the season.

14 Manchester Mass Murderers (1-4) - Might be able to pick up a few wins the next 3 weeks with a temporary break in the schedule.

15 Cape Verde Aces (0-5) - Have played one of the toughest schedules but things ease up for 2 weeks now.

16 Medicine Hat Witch Doctors (0-5) - Another loss.

ELEPHANT

1 Carthage Mad Clash (5-0) - Went into halftime down by 7 but then they scored the next 24 points which was more than enough to get the win.

2 A7 (5-0) - In a week full of great games this was another classic. A7 took an early 14-3 lead in the 1st but by the end of the 3rd Q the game was all tied up. The Warriors took a 7 point lead in the 4th and A7 came back and tied it up. Then with 2 minutes left A7 scored a TD for the lead. The Warriors were not going to lay down though as they connected for a 71 yd TD pass that tied it all back up. With time winding down A7 moved downfield and with 11 seconds left in regulation they hit the game winning FG. Hell of a game.

3 Warriors (4-1) - See above.

4 RMT (4-1) - Wasn't expecting them to beat Carthage but the played one hell of a game for awhile there before the CMC floodgates opened up.

5 Nairobi (4-1) - Coming off a bye week they get the young BSS squad before they have a 5 week stretch against some tough teams.

6 Gotta Have More Cowbell (5-0) - Play time is officially over. The next 5 weeks will show how real this team is.

7 WWR (4-1) - Did just enough to squeak the win out against an improved 49ers squad.Still have 3 tough games on tap so they need to keep the momentum going.

8 49ers (2-3) - Outperformed the Rhinos offensively but 3 turnovers killed them as they lost a close one.

9 Sons (3-2) - Got off to a slow start but they took over in the second half of the game.

10 ICB (3-2) - Another tough loss for ICB. A few turnovers and some struggles running the ball couldn't help them out when the Sons ripped off 30 points in the second half.

11 ECS (2-3) - Could be on their way to their first 4 game win streak since moving up to APL a few seasons ago.

12 ABD (1-4) - Finally got win #1 out of the way. Can they pick up #2 anytime in the next 5 weeks?

13 BSS (0-5) - The first 6 weeks of their schedule have read like a who's who of playoff teams. After Nairobi they'll get to face some teams that will be more on their level.

14 Guyana (0-5) - A shot at a win against Norfolk coming up.

15 Norfolk (0-5) - Been a rough season but they get Guyana up next so they have a shot at that elusive first win.

16 New Jersey Juggernauts (0-5) - Another loss.

That A7 game was a heartbreaker for us, but they did what they had to do to win. Our defense needs to be able to stop people in that last 2 mins if we want to get better.

Agreed, even with all of the shit talking it was a great game for sure I've gotta tidy up the D for a few things I saw as well.

WEEK 6 RANKINGS
LION

1 Somalia Pirates (6-0) - Pirates got an easy win over Nuremberg and next they'll get another hot team in CWE.

2 Guyana Punch (6-0) - Manhandled the Outlaws as they put up the games first 59 points before Oklahoma finally got in the endzone.

3 CWE (5-1) - Taking teams apart so far this season. Can they get over on Somalia next week and make a push for the 1 seed?

4 Zambezi Silverbacks (4-2) - Huge comeback win for the Silverbacks that saw them fight for the W after being down by 16 points with 18 minutes left in the game. The 4th Q was a scoring marathon for both teams but Zambezi went on to score a TD at the 2 minute mark to come 2 points and then hit the game winning FG with 18 seconds left. For now that will push them up the rankings.

5 San Diego (4-2) - The AquaBats were up 19-3 at one point in the game and then Zambezi came roaring back.

6 Philly Franklins (4-2) - Another classic game this week as Philly did just enough to come away with a narrow 4 point victory. Great job running the ball by this team while shutting down the opponents run game.

7 Mega City Monsters (3-3) - Mega played a tough game and went into halftime all tied up. Slipped up a bit in the 3rd Q as they let Philly put up 14 to their 0 and in the end that was just enough to hold off any comeback attempt. This is looking like the best 3-3 team out there right now so Lion teams need to beware.

8 Lincoln (3-3) - Big win over Nile keeps the Saints alive but they're going to have to beat one of the teams ranked above them right now if they want to make the playoffs.

9 Oklahoma Outlaws (3-3) - Not faring well against some of the better teams in Lion. A loss to Nile next week could put them in a tough predicament at the end of the season.

10 Nile River Assassins (2-4) - Still showing that they have a little way to go before they're ready to see the playoffs but the talent is definitely there.

11 Transylvania (3-3) - Pick up their 3rd game behind a solid offensive effort but they need to watch out for those turnovers.

12 Texas Longhorns (1-5) - Big second half was more than enough to get the win over Manchester.

13 Nuremberg Nighthawks (1-5) - After finally getting their first win the Nighthawks are in the middle of another tough stretch of games. They could reach 1-8 before they face an equal team.

14 Manchester Mass Murderers (1-5) - Took a 7-3 lead into halftime but then got shutout in the second half.

15 Cape Verde Aces (0-6) - Heading into a showdown with the only other winless team in Lion next week.

16 Medicine Hat Witch Doctors (0-6) - Another loss but a shot at their first win next week.

ELEPHANT

1 Carthage Mad Clash (6-0) - Stringing together some impressive wins and it's hard to see that coming to an end anytime soon.

2 A7 (6-0) - A few big plays in the 2nd Q from A7 helped send the game into halftime tied up at 14. With both teams going back and forth in the 4th Q the biggest contributor today was Kicker Goof as his 3 FGs in the 3rd Q proved the be the deciding factor in this pretty even game.

3 Warriors (5-1) - After taking apart ABD they should coast for the next 3 weeks.

4 RMT (5-1) - A solid win over the Rhinos as they just took over the second half.

5 Nairobi (5-1) - They've only played one tough team this season (A7) and lost that game. Now they have to face the toughest team in Elephant this season to kickoff a 5 week stretch of hellacious games.

6 Gotta Have More Cowbell (5-1) - After a rough outing against Carthage this team gets 4 weeks to show if they're really good or just riding an easy schedule. Going to be very critical games but I think Cowbell will make it through the stretch alright.

7 WWR (4-2) - Things didn't go very well for WWR in the second half against RMT. They'll have to shake that off quickly though as they prepare for Cowbell and Nairobi the next 2 weeks.

8 Sons (3-3) - The last 4 weeks haven't been easy but now they get a struggling ABD team followed by GG, NJ and BSS. That should give them a nice 4 game streak if they play their cards right.

9 ICB (4-2) - Big win for ICB to stay over .500. The battle for playoff spots is going to be brutal this season and every game counts.

10 49ers (2-4) - Struggled to run the ball but they still had a huge 3rd quarter that closed the gap. It wasn't enough to get the win though. Credit to this team though as they have played 3 very tough games in a row and the biggest point margin was this 5 point loss. Definitely heading in the right direction.

11 ECS (3-3) - Really taking advantage of the lull in their schedule but after BSS this win streak should come to a screeching halt.

12 ABD (1-5) - After the showing they had against the Warriors it's looking like this team is bound for 1-9 if something doesn't change soon.

13 BSS (0-6) - The only good news I can give BSS is that the last 4 weeks of their schedule will be very soft compared to the first half of this season.

14 Guyana (1-5) - Finally get the 1st win of the season but the next 4 games won't be pretty.

15 Norfolk (0-6) - Should get win #1 next week.

16 New Jersey Juggernauts (0-6) - Another loss.
