Their margin of victory was so high because everyone's dots sucked back then.

The difference in dots is much less now and it relies much more on the gameplanning.

Silly argument

No, everyone's dots didn't suck...Vals were good, taut's were good, Blazes were +10 great. I will grant you 2 things, though....there are a lot more great dots today than back then and Val didn't win so much on GPing. Alloy was a damn good OC & DC, but he p much found what worked best and ran with it, because no one could stop him.

Still, both Val and HHWC are great teams. Who has the more significant achievement (assuming HHWC wins)? Debatable either way, but both are great in their own right.

Supporting my argument tbh.

There were about 2 teams in the game that had an actual shot at beating Valhalla. There are about 6-8 teams maybe more that have had an actual shot at beating HHWC.

Competition is much stiffer in the WL now than it was in s13-15.

valhalla was the first team that was really orchestrated, designed, and built. w_alloy was ahead of the game substantially.

not true. mphd and hhw were both the same style, they just weren't as good.

Don't disagree, but one could also make the argument that assembling (or building them yourself) great dots back then was way more of a challenge than today, since there wasn't close to as much quality and few really knew how to build. Bushido Zin is correct, but is correct in alloy being ahead of his time in knowing HOW to build great. For a couple ssns before alloy and I teamed up, I'd been working with a bunch of top teams, giving input on builds (it helped me as much as it ever did those teams). Where alloy was VASTLY ahead of the game was getting every drop of SP value possible out of the building. Where he was lacking just a little was what AEQ and SAs were needed to push great skills builds over the top. He'd sort of lived in his own bubble until he hit WL. Once we paired his dots with the right AEQ & SAs, it made all the difference in the world, but the SAs and AEQ wouldn't have mattered close to as much if he hadn't maximized his skills builds. His dots also hit that time frame's sim p much perfectly.

MPHD was built in season 3 with a single vision and carried pretty much the same entire roster through to season 14.

The Wangs were slightly ahead of us I think.

BigRatUno also had an even earlier team, but they never quite got over the top.

Alloy's builds didn't really do anything but promote stacking +% AEQ and using Streaky for the general population (which people over-adopted). Everyone's builds at the very top were right along with Alloy's, just many lacked the stacked +% AEQ.

As far as GLB becoming better dotballers, that's been the general progression for quite some time now. I mean compare S5 dots to S9 dots. It's a continual learning process, even for the elite dotbuilders.
