why the hell is this still happening? it's stupid. we want the best teams in the WL and that can't happen when they're mostly in the same conference.

It's just unfortunate when things get too lopsided....I mean, wasn't Lincoln a superpower 2 years ago who wound up being demoted?
Nothing really changes for me personally - still need to target the 8-10 winnable games and see what we can do. Just makes the margin for error really slim

ya...Lincoln was. And we demoted...went down...took care of business. And now we are back. Comes with the territory. People want competition. Bort set up competition. I think its kinda cool actually to see the newbs all in one conference. Gives them a better chance to stick around for a season and hopefully get better. I mean if a power house team gets sent down for a season...its not a huge deal...they won't lose recruiting prowess...players will still flock there, pick up an easy WL birth within the next 2 seasons and come back just as good. One of the newbies get knocked down after a 1 and done...and the big players kinda scatter.

we've been demoted before, came back one season later and never left so I know what you are talking about. Might not be a terrible thing to play a season in pro to be honest, since we are starting the reloading process this season anyway and I'm not worried about filling our roster if we have an off season.
But we are always a mid level team.....there are most likely some teams that are serious contenders that will hit their absolute peak next season and will be scattered amongst various other WL teams instead after they demote. Happens every season, but when you consider that all 10 of the returning WL playoff teams in Alpha probably think they have a competitive, playoff caliber team and 5 of the promoted teams are coming off a league championship (and the other one has been here before), I'm guessing there are going to be a few more hurt feelings in S19 than usual

But I feel for the teams who are middle of the pack that really have no shot in Alpha and meanwhile they'll watch teams they are better than in Zeta cruise to the playoffs.
It will actually be fun.
Sofia p much falls in this conversation. I really feel that in Zeta I'd have a fighting chance to get a 6-8 seed and stick around. But in Alpha I'll be lucky to crack the top 10
