I've seen his builds, they were better than our roster during that span.

lol at pretending they weren't to somehow devalue Blaze

we all have seen them, and personally, I think dPride had better builds, but they just got outgameplanned like everyone else. no shame in getting outgameplanned to Valhalla, but come on, we all know you had better builds, its silly to argue it

You saw a handful of builds on the team, the ones that happened to be the very best on the team. Even alloy believed Blaze had better builds. Shit, What did PT's +10s look like back then? What Val had that Blaze didn't, was every dot on the team working together as one for the good of the team and a hell of a dotball mind running the show. Part of made alloy soooooo damn good was that he wasn't an arrogant ass, actively sought out the opinions of others and wasn't stupid enough to believe he knew everything. A great irony in life is that most of the very best at anything realize how much they don't know, yet its those that will never be truly great thast believe they know it all and go around talking about how great they are and what failures everyone else is.

I'd say they were pretty much a draw in overall builds, but Valhalla got more out of them because alloy had everyone on the same page, and maximized VAs/custom slots/etc. I know we're all trying to troll the Blaze in this thread, but let's be honest, neither team really game planned in earnest. Chuck it down field and let your WRs catch it in triple coverage isn't really game planning. And defensively, nothing was done that actually worked, so neither side deserves much kudos for game planning during that span. The point was that those two teams could get away with throwing the ball all game every game, while most teams in the game at the time could not. Nonetheless, it has to be disappointing for a guy that stakes his personal worth on WL trophies to only have 1. I'm sure dpride would have killed himself by now if not for his one Gold with dots from banned agents on it.

I agree and disagree with this. I know alloy tried all sorts of stuff in scrims and games that he felt we'd win. The bitch of it was that the sim was built to simply chuck and hope, and you didn't even have to hope that much, as it was a given it'd be complete far more than not. Alloy was a very good GPer, and he did often do seemingly little things to put the dots in the best positions, but chuck it deep was just the way to go. I agree it made for horrid "game plans" though.

I can't remember who it was, but one of them opened up 3-4 OLmen on the blaze back then. They were slightly better builds, IMO. On Val, we started working on SAs before finishing the skills, so we could win up earlier (actually, that happened a week or so before I joined, so it wasn't really a "we"). That put them behind a bit for the 1st 2 WL golds. By the time they were opened, their AEQ had improved a ton over that last ssn (shifting AEQ pieces and finishing them off).

I'm not saying either couldn't game plan, but I don't really think game planning was the difference in the Blaze/Valhalla games back then. Both teams did what worked, but it wasn't exactly some analysis of a weakness in the opponents defense. You said basically what I said and that the real difference was having every dot on the team really working for a common goal.

Chocolate Blaze
Merged a bunch of elite teams and all they have to show for it is 1 ring, O-N-E. So bad.

Blaze did not have 3 AEQ across the board, that was the difference maker. Not to mention Alloy's aeq in general tended to be much better than the blaze counterparts.

IIRC, just from the way different waves of builds were peaking, the only season I felt the Blaze had slightly superior talent over Valhalla was season 14, but they did have a superior AEQ setup from what I've seen (a lot of the Blaze were only working with 2 AEQ, Valhalla's guys from what I've seen mostly had 3 and the AEQ itself was superior to begin with). And that championship game was a pick 'em really, Valhalla just won a couple of more coin flips and got an incredibly well timed INT in OT in a game with almost 1,500 yards of offense. Season 15 saw a lot of turnover and Valhalla was clearly better to win their third title. Certainly no shame in what the Blaze have done since then though, especially after others caught up to what the Blaze and Valhalla were doing. One championship, a 6 point loss in a conference championship, and look to be right there in the mix for another WL title this season.

I dunno, having 2 of your 3 biggest agents banned for cheating seems pretty shameful to me.
