if x player is blitzing and you pass vision check the QB will hold in a blocker

I dont think "free placement" is a good idea for backfield blockers. There should be predetermined sets.

I agree. They need to just improve HB/FB blocking AI.

So if a player is blitzing from the left side and I have TE set to audible. A vision check is passed and the TE blocks left?

Also I know that blitzing from farther away makes the Oline logic fucking screwy...so I have a hard time believing that this works correctly.

just seems like it would be a ton easier to code in predetermined sets on offense rather than guys anywhere in the backfield. Would lead to far less exploits anyways.

no he wont move to left

but even on HB/FB/TE primary routes if QB passes blitz vision check those guys will stay in and block

it doesnt really do shit for the weakside overload blitz stuff but if does work as coded

I have had pass plays designed for the FB get fucked because the FB was audibled in to block

There's 5 Blockers and 6 Pass Rushers....the 6th Pass Rusher has a straight shot to the QB. Not to mention the offense was only going for deep passes which take a long time to develop compared to how long it takes #6 to get in the backfield.


shotgun - quick release? lol... Or do you think any time a defense sends 6 vs a shotgun formation they get a sack? lol

I agree. The point is that you should have some degree of flexibility to make the blitzing game more entertaining than it is now. Watch a football game and you see a myriad of different blitz plays, watch a GLB season and you see the same three plays over and over again.

To be fair, nothing should always work including 3rd and long blitzing. In normal football, if a team is blitzing from the same gap every time, the QB would occasionally audible an extra blocker and change the protection or if he didn't want to change it, he could automatically roll to the other side to complete a short pass or have the HB/FB/TE normally blocking slip into the hole in the defense.

I guess GLB's big problem the past 6 seasons is that something always works. I mean, it was like that the first 10 seasons where teams had different identities, builds and tactics but i don't think we knew enough about the sim and the mechanics to fully take advantage and it was the only reason that happened. If someone were to go back, they could destroy the sim even worse back then. It's just too easy these days for regular WLers to find the holes in bort's coding. Not necessarily with unstoppable glitches (this blitz isn't one) but with things that obviously work best or things that are obviously a bit screwy from a football standpoint.

When it'll change? Who knows

I think what happened is when bort went in and rigged the blaze game to give our entire team negative streaky he only did it for regular season/preseason games (see alpine loss) and when we play scrimmages we crush or play very tough anyways..
