Well, today looks to be an off week for the league, as the conference powerhouses hope to beat up on the cellar dwellars. There is a nice little battle brewing for the last playoff spot, as the Generals, Sooners, and Assassins all want to stake claim. Some good games between those teams should give one of these teams the upperhand.

In our first match up, the Nightmares take on the Mavericks. If the Mavericks have a chance to win this season, this very well could be the game. Cologne does not have any quality wins and are on the slide. The Mavericks hope for an ace up their sleeve, but all they can draw is a busted straight as the Nightmares edge them for their 3rd win.

The Tormentors took one on the chin last week and unfortunately for them do not get a chance to get back on track as they face the Romantics. Venice is Romancing the Stone and it turns out to be a diamond in the rough. Trouncing abounds as Venice improves to 10 - 1 on the season.

The Pirates have almost knocked themselves out of the playoff picture. Without a win today, they can write off hopes of a successful season. The Blackshirts have no intention of playing choke artists and win this one handily. Blackshirts look to be the team to beat down the stretch. Can't wait for the Longhorn showdown this weekend.

The THUNDER were nothing more than a finger snap last week as they dropped from 1st to 6th thanks to a devestating loss to the Horns. Turin still believes themselves to be the best in the West and will unleash a storm on the Nomads. The Nomads 'wander' what happened to them this week as the THUNDER rolls.

In our first playoff implication matchup, the Rebels take on the Generals. The Generals are still in the driver seat for the last spot, as long as they continue to take care of business. Having lost last week, the fans wonder if this will be just another season sqaundered. The magic eight ball says "Sources Unlikely" as they eek out a tough match against the upstart Rebels.

The Assassins are on the skids and it gets no easier this week as they take on the Cheetahs. Needing to go 2 - 1 in this three game stretch proves to be impossible as they drop the first 2. A loss today could possibly seal their fate. Will they pull the game plan together, or will the Cheetahs run away from them? Don't bet against the Cats.

***Upset Special of the Week***
The News Team gets another tough matchup with week in the Gangsters. The Gangsters, like the player owned Romantics, have proven the naysayers wrong with some very complete performances against even the best teams in the league. Berlin will need everyone on it's roster to have the game of the year. This is the week Berlin makes some noise.

***Game of the Week***
It's the Red River Showdown this week as the Sooners and the Horns clash. The Horns are rolling after a win against the THUNDER last week, but the Sooners desperately need a win to stay in playoff contention. The desire shows as the Sooners make a good effort, but the Horns simply out match them. Nice try Sooners, but as I have said before, You still Suck

Last week :
5 - 3
Season :
34-13

Good luck everyone!

with 29 seconds left no less...whoever was supposed to cover that receiver on the last series needs to run extra laps this week in practice...i think they targeted him like 8 passes in a row before the score!

After a two game hietus due to vacation, I am back with another round of predictions. We near seasons end and some teams are still scrapping for playoff lives, as the top teams look to shore up their seeding for the tourney. Let's see what is happening...

In our first matchup, it's David and Goliath as the Romantics look to steamroll the Mavs. This one is over before it starts, as David's slingshot has a premature breakage. With no rocks to sling, they will be lucky to keep Venice under 100.

Next up, we have the battle of no one cares, as two teams out of the playoff picture look to earn a little momentum for next season. The Sooners can't seem to find an identity, and Windsor can't seem to find an offense. The two make for an unexciting game as Windsor edges Oklahoma by a point late in the game.

In our toilet bowl for the week, the Pirates are still trying to decide if they are going to walk the plank at seasons end and drop a league. They would need to lose out for this to happen, but don't write them off just yet. This will be the first loss that could send them packing as they drop a nailbiter to the Nomads.

The Assassins get a break this week as they are tormented by Naples. Playoff hopes are dashed, but the Assassins haven't stopped playing. Fortunately for the Assassins, it's little more than a bump in the road, as they absolutely murder Naples.

In the battle before the big showdown, Nebraska has one more mop up duty to perform as they face off against Cologne. The Blackshirt D proves to be an absolute nightmare, as they hand Cologne their worst loss of the season. Time to face the Horns, as they head into the matchup with their win streak still in tact.

In a matchup that holds large playoff implications, the current #7 News Team will have to face the current #8 Generals. In a back and forth defensive battle, Newyark will prove to be the difference maker with a HUGE sack to seal the Generals fate. The sack takes Yorktown out of FG range and they lose by 2.

***Upset special of the week***
Turin needs to win this week to prove they weren't a fluke. The Cheetahs are looking to prove the belong at the top. The Cheetahs have been rolling of the late and Turin is only 3 - 3 in it's last six. Which Turin team shows up? My bet is the one that started the season 7-0 as they take down the cats.

***Game of the Week***
Well, the Horns are trying to avoid looking ahead to the looming Blackshirt matchup. That should be no problem, as they draw the Gangsters in the last home game of the season. While the Gangsters have the record, the Horns have the momentum. This game is not as close as it looks on paper as the Horns roll.

Good luck all!

Last week :
7-1
Season :
41-14

Well, last conference week of the season. And while the Alpha conference is poised to dash a few Zeta conference dreams, the playoff picture is pretty well established. The only question revolves around the seeding. A couple of games this week could determine who gets home field, and who has to play away.

In the battle of moral victories, the Rebels look to avoid being the only team to lose to the Mavs. Neither team can make the playoffs, but want to set the table for next season. The Rebels offense has been stagnant of late, but it gets a nice revival as the Mavs are simply outmatched. Rebs running away.

The Gangsters took one on the chin last week and look to rebound. While not mathematically out of the 4 seed, they need to do work on the Nomads to keep that hope alive. Otherwise its unhappy confines in the playoffs. The Gangsters stall early, but come through in a big way as they take down the Nomads.

The Generals got a HUGE win last week in barely knocking off the News Boys. They need this win to secure the 7 seed and avoid a first round against the Romantics. The Tormentors have lost their last 10 and show no signs of coming up for air, as they are sunk in this match up. Gens are the pick.

Every story has a good guy and a bad guy. In this case it's the good girl Romantics, and the bad boy Pirates. Match made in heaven? Love is NOT in the air as the Romantics send the Pirates packing in search of a new fair maiden. Romantics make it 14 in a row.

The THUNDER have all but crashed and burned after a great start to the season. They can't do any worse than the 6 seed, but still want to prove they are one of the elite. Even a dismantling of the Assassins won't prove much, but it does raise morale in the Turin camp. THUNDER roll.

The Sooners MUST win this week to get in the playoffs. Unfortunately for them, they draw a Cheetah team that has taken down some of the powerhouses of the league including a stomping of the THUNDER last week. There is no slowing the cats as they drop the Sooners out of the race and send them home licking their wounds. There is always next year for OU, but don't count on it...

***Game of the week***
Well, the Horns and Blackshirts circled this one at the beginning of the season as the game of the year. Even though both teams stumbled along the way, the game does turn out to have huge implications. Win and homefield is secured for at least 1 playoff game. Lose and you play on the road. Both teams are streaking and the game is down to who has the most heart. The Blackshirts get the home crowd advantage, but their hearts fail late as the Horns steal this one in a game for the ages. Horns secure #3.

Last week :
6-2
Season :
47-16

Good luck all, and don't look past your Alpha opponent next week. They have some very solid teams over there!

Thanks,
Jason
