Difference is that I will sit here and admit that we choked in the Final. At least we didn't choke in the second round. If you're that good you will find a way to get there. Last I recall in football or dotball for that matter....a loss is a loss whether it happens in OT or by a 100 TD's.

I have no idea who these teams are btw. Final thought as far as I'm concerned is what I just posted.

Seems to have worked last time, sometimes when all the people with mod influence act without the knowledge of the community to work a way around the normal gold promotion, public forums is the only way to get a point across.

So standing up and lobbying for my team to not be swept under the rug while this debate goes on is starting shit when I just read all of this about an hour or so ago.

So far all I've done is state that we deserve to be looked at when granting another team the opportunity to play in Gold. Though I've had to defend the attempts at belittling us which I believe every owner should stand up for their team and do.....starting shit is not what I came here to do.

1) If you don't know who Final Thought is, you definitely don't belong in Gold.

2) Getting your a$$ handed to you in the finals 31-10 or 73-0 (and allowing over 660 yards of offense) is far worse than losing in OT in the second round to the team that goes on to route everyone on the way to a championship. Maybe you don't get it (real football or dotball) -- OT means that it's close enough that the other team very easily could've won. This is a SIM. Odds are that if you turned right around and ran an OT game again on the SIM, the outcome would be different. You can't "find a way to get there" when the SIM goes batty and does what it does. There is no timeout at the line to call a different play during the game.

3) Yes, a loss is a loss, so using your logic, losing in the finals is no different than losing in the second round -- it's still a loss. How many did you team have last season? Want me to help you out? You had 3 in league play. How many did Crib have in League play? 1 -- in the second round in OT to the team that won the league in a blowout the rest of the way. You just don't get it though.

Great points though, I agree in the future score difference is clearly and absolutely the best way to judge which of the conference champion runner ups is the best.

Could even go as far as, order the upcoming gold teams by record, then however many extra spots their are, take those teams, and whichever team played the closest game to them in the playoffs, tiebreaker being records, goes on (this would likely produce good results, but is sketchy in concept)

Just saying, this season, its only fair, and respectable that we honor the existing promotion script rather than randomly switching to a subjective decision for the promotion of one team out of what, 13, seems unfair to me, and I would think the Crib Midgets would honor the ethics here and give up the promotion to FCA and earn their place to gold like honest decent people, rather than using some backdoor "look we know your the best so screw FCA" method.

I absolutely understand he was given the opportunity by the staff to do this, and that its actually been done in seasons past, I think once or twice it has been mentioned, but the point is, it wasn't right to do it then just because I wasn't their to be a bitch about it, doesn't mean it was right... and it shouldn't be repeated because double standards is absolutely not suave.

I was nice the first few posts, but he wasn't getting it. Somehow he couldn't understand that losing to a champion in OT wasn't better than getting blown out.

The current promotion script is terrible, everybody except EDB agrees to that point, hence my proposal to update the mechanics of the promotion system so these offseason arguments are forever eliminated.

I never said it wasn't terrible, I said it is unethical to change the script for the last 1-2 promotions, however bad the script results may be, as you are bypassing the assumed system for gold promotions for this season, FCA and Hartford earned their seat in gold via the existing ranking script, and they should not be robbed of this just because teams chose to wait till after the promotions to drop out, or the admins chose not to honor drop outs till after promotions, either way...
