Here's how it works:

Team A plays team B. Team A beats team B by X points. If X > 63, MoV=63, but MoL is unaffected.

aW = Team A's total wins, aL = their total losses, bW, bL, etc.

Team A gets (MoV*(bW^2)/(bL^2)) points added to their raw power ranking.

Team B gets (MoL*(aL^2)/(aW^2)) deducted from theirs.

This leaves the possibility for 0 points added for beating a winless team, and 0 points deducted for losing to an undefeated team. However, the raw ranking score (R) is tweaked downward to create an adjusted score (A) - so even losing to an undefeated can still have a big impact on your score in a multiplicative fashion

If the team has a positive R, R/(aL+1) = A

If the team has a negative R = A

Teams are ranked by their A, not their R.

Now

In the playoffs, the A from the regular season is carried over, and each game the team plays takes the raw R from that game and adds it directly to the A, adding either a W or a L to the team's overall record to calculate the A and the bonuses/penalties from the opposing teams W/L.

So, say team A beats team B in the first round of the playoffs. Team A gets:

(A) + (MoV*(bW^2)/(bL^2))

and team B gets

(A) - (MoL*(bL^2)/(bW^2))

team B will have no more adjustments to their score except as prior opponents win or lose deeper into the playoffs, where team A will get another direct alteration to their score based on their performance in the following game.
