Gino Toretta was nowhere near as good as a college QB as Wuerffel, Ward or Young. For starters those guys didn't choke in their national title games. I can't even believe out of all the good Miami QBs that you even listed Toretta. He's not even the best Miami QB of all time.
What are you talking about, Toretta was 1-1 in national championship games. He lost to alabama but kicked the shit out of houston.
Toretta made it twice at least. Actually, made it 3 times if you count when he was a redshirt in 89.
BTW, when the hell did this become Danny awful and Torretta talk. All im saying is BOTH of those qb's had better college careers than vince young. I could give two shits less about Danny Wuerffel.
Seriously, turn in your man-card and just stop embarassing yourself. 3000 yds passing 1000 yds rushing and the 2 most dominant Rose Bowl performances of all time. /End of argument.
Toretta more passing yards than young has rushing and passing combined. A national championship and a heisman trophy.
Your homerism makes you an idiot. I thought people that played this game actually knew a thing or two about football.
"Toretta more passing yards than young has rushing and passing combined. A national championship and a heisman trophy."
You are wrong. I already listed is for you earlier. Torretta had 7,722 yards of total offense to 9,167 for Young (in 3 seasons).

OMFG!! Super Bowl MVP? Jesus, give me some of what Cedric is smokin
Yeah... how will VY EVER stack up against aggy greats like Mcneal?
VY IS the best QB to ever play CFB, and once he gets soem help on offense he will flourish in the NFL. He hasnt been the worst QB in the league yet, and he is only a 3rd year player.
Soem of you jackoffs are STILL BITTER that he stomped mudholes in your teams, and its sad that you cant ever get past that and see him for the athlete/QB/player he really is. Hell the aggy fan base was as classless as it comes when it came down to VY... called him radio/monkey etc etc.... and he proceeded to smash them on the way to the MNC... Should Tenn ever get him a TRUE deep threat as WR and maybe one or 2 other skill slot players that are any good, he will KILL ppl on the field once again.
For anyone to say he sucks, it just shows their complete ignorance and blind hate of Texas as a collegiate football team, as well as VY himself. How long did it take Manning to becoem what he is today? How about Brady? Uh huh.... keep on talking shit like Hoge did... he will eventually silence all the bullshit critics who THINK they knwo what they are talking about..
Dude, chill the fuck out. Have you ONCE seen me say that McNeal was EVER as good as VY? Or are you just going to fucking put words in my mouth. Put down the damn Longhorn talking points book that your mommy gave you last year for your 12th birthday and tell me where in the hell I ever said that VY was not one of THE best ever college QBs. You sure as fuck haven't seen me rating any of these tools like Gino Fucking Torretta or Danny Wuerffel or Tommy Frazier higher than VY like some of these tools have.
But keep bringing up your same old tired talking points when in fact I haven't once brought ANY of that up. Vince got exposed last year for the no defense reading QB that he is. He was a freaking freak of nature in the college game.... but guess what, there are a LOT of freaks of nature in the NFL and he's no longer the big kid in the game but just one of many men. He is fast as hell, but NFL linebackers are just as fast.
So shut your fucking pie hole, sit back and watch and let me know when Vince turns into a Hall of Fame QB. I'll be waiting.

Vince was one of the best COLLEGE QBs ever to play the game.
Stay on topic. Vince was one of the best college QBs ever to play the game.
You're absolutely right..... I've just totally mis-represented VY and tore him apart and have zero respect for him.
All you can do is keep grabbing the same old tired cue card and reading it. Even though you don't know a damn thing about my opinions of Vince as a college QB at Texas.
And reading your post....... it's quite clear that maybe you are in fact Vince Young himself. That garbage you called English is worthy of the 6 he got on the Wonderlic.
As bad of an NFL QB I think he's going to end up, I can't for the life of me figure out how people are ranking some of these nobodies ahead of him in the college game.
I do know as well he isn't garbage. His pro career is in front of him.
I also know he was one of the alltime greats in college.
I find it funny people try to write the book on a guy in year two of his career. We will learn a lot about Vince over the next three years. Even if he doesn't measure up he was still great in college and made a whole lot of cash in the Pros.
Remember that the Titans didn't get to pick him number 3 overall because they were good.
Remember that the Titans didn't get to pick him number 3 overall because they were good.
Everyone knows he should be able to lift 40 people and carry them every play of every game, ever. Even if hes hurt, or the coaching is downright awful.
Originally posted by lawdawg95 I don't think he's "garbage" either.
But I highly doubt he'll ever be mentioned as a Hall of Fame NFL Great.
I don't care how great you are, I am not mentioning HOF for a player until around season 8.
Adrian Peterson was awesome last year, and I doubt we see him in the HOF. If the rest of his career improves and he does it for a while then we can talk. Our instant gratification society is always looking to anoint someone. The HOF takes time.

The shame of Peterson is they will work him like a horse the next three years, he will be so torn up by then his only hope is to turn into a Curtis Martin like back, not at the level Martin was but just enough to get by for the rest of his playing days.
