Regular season, who cares! Phillips is like Henry Winkler in the Waterboy, and is not a head coach for any team who wants to win a superbowl. I guess you are right about Parcells, it seems as though being in Miami has really showed that his time has passed. He instills accountability in players and the last time he was in the Superbowl was with the Pats in 95 I believe. I love the statement, the game has passed him by! Does blocking and tackling not matter anymore, had Parcells stayed Dallas would have been in a Superbowl by now. You say discipline is the way to go, yet Parcells had to go which contradicts your point. You would take Cowher as a Head Coach whose biggest play was should I run the Bus to the left or the right and let our defense win it for us! Wow, I am all over the road on this one....

How did Parcells do in the SB in 95...unless you win it, who cares.....That is the expectations of True Cowboy fans.....That is why I laugh when BSPN says the Boys haven't won a playoff game in 12 years...Guess what....lets say they made and won the first playoff game for the last 12 years and then lost...What would BSPN say...Well the Boys havn;t made it past the first round of the playoffs in 12 seasons.....So guess what, as a Boys fan for over 30 years I care about 1 thing....THE RING.

At least you have some rings...

I think most of the rings are sitting here in Boston, the most dominant sports town of this decade, without question....

Im at a conflict here. Do I cheer for the Texans in good faith knowing that atleast someone there is my instate brethren... or do I root against yall knowing that your probably not Cowboy fans?

LOL, you're a Red Raider and a Cowgirl... doesn't make a difference who you cheer for.

Hook 'Em.

Well ultimately I agree with you on your opening statement, however not for the reasons you listed. Jerry is the biggest problem in Dallas, however seeing as how we cant fire him we have to live with him. Phillips is a "buddy" coach. Despite all the knocks against him, he's actually a very competent coach... I just dont like his style and its not what the team needs. However Phillips isnt the reason we are losing, hell his 22-10 record is great. TO was a distraction and created drama. The media overblew, but that still adds fuel to the fire. Romo is very focused on the game, then again if all you watch is the media you'll get the impression that he's running off to Mexico every weekend.

This is still an extremely young team, most of our core has only been in the league 4 or 5 years. Despite your opinion of Williams ability to run routes, the guy is still a very good reciever. Is he all pro? No. Is he a solid option? absolutely. Witten and Bennett are both great safety valves in the middle, and we have two backs in Barber and Jones who can be viable recieving threats as well. Crayton is an above average #3... so the real question is whether or not Austin is ready to step into the role of the #2. Most Dallas fans are very confident in him... and no one is worried about our recieving game this season.

What this team needs is a leader to get our act straight and motivate us, we tried to sign Lewis but it didnt happen. However letting loose on the a few of the distractions will help keep the team focused and ultimately bring more unity.

I agree with you that Jerrah is the biggest problem in Dallas.
I keep telling all of my friends that there is a team that represents all the values that the Cowboys used to represent, back when they became fans of the Boys. That team is the Houston Texans.

It's not too late to get in while the Texans are still considered also-rans in the league. That way, when they win their first championship, you can say that you not a band wagoner, and have been with them since they were mediocre.
It means so much more when you root for a team through years of losing and they finally win a ring. As a Rockets fan, I found out about that back in the nineties.

Yeah, I have to agree with you, unfortunately. You guys have had a great run up there.

Here's a funny vid from '04 when the Sox won it all.
You've probably seen it, but it's still funny as hell every time.

We were just talking about the '06 draft on the Texans Talk message boards.
There was a poll asking you to look back on the '06 draft knowing what you know now, and vote for who you think was the right draft choice between Mario, Reggie and VY.
Mario got 92.26% of the vote, with only some of the more hard-headed board members voting against him for whatever reason.
Mario is a beast, and should be a perennial pro bowler for years.

Actually I am an undercover Texans fan. I cheer for all local teams unless given a reason not to... and frankly the Cowboys and Texans just dont have a rivalry at this time. I was a huge Oilers fan but I didnt follow them to Tenn. Cowboys always come first, but when it doesnt conflict im cheering for the Texans.

Mario really blossumed this past season. As a quasi-outsider I thought you guys made the right decision three years ago and everything since has backed it up.

Wreck Em'!

Houston is going to suprise a lot of people this year. If they play well enough they may just force ESPN to give them an iota of coverage.

Stud, all the way. If we can get him some decent help on the DL, he would be unstoppable. The GM has did a good job of brining in some DL players, just hoping they pan out.

Well, the Texans have been on the radar for two seasons now... so I dont think they will suprise anyone. Last season they were picked to be the darkhorse by many and I imagine that will be the case once again this year. Your division is certainly weeker than in the past, so stay healthy and have a little bit of luck and you guys could finish #1 or #2 in the division and make the playoffs.

of course it's a question, but you won't like the answer. Los Angeles > Boston

3 NBA titles (lakers) + 2 other Finals and maybe a 3rd soon
2 (or is it 3) WNBA titles (okay okay, wnba LOL) (sparks)
2 MLS title (galaxy)
2 NCAAF titles (USC) + another NC game and mulitple Rose Bowls
3 NCAAAB Final Fours (UCLA)
1 NHL title (Ducks) + another Finals
1 MLB title (Angels)

When you are counting WNBA and Soccer, all credibility goes out the window....I am almost embarrassed that I share the name RJS with you!

well, i self-admitted wnba is a bit lol. but soccer is legit.

Still. Boston has nothing on LA. 2 MLB titles and 3 NFL superbowls + 1 more superbowl doesn't match up with 3 straight NBA titles, back-to-back NCAA titles, 3 final fours in a row, and a world series and stanley cup title.
