You miss the entire point with your unfounded arrogance, but you seem to know it all so best of luck. Just out of curiousity, what play had the Thunder so afraid that you felt you needed to run a 3-1-7 today vs single back? I'm confused though, if you have 7 inputs for each defense, did you have 6 set to 3-1-7 because you ran that 79 times. As far as running 80 times, nobody knew that, that count had everything to do with a great plan from the OC and a poor plan from the DC....Rush for 4 yards, do it again, etc..

I don't understand your point. You can't predict that someone will completely switch their game plan to one formation, especially if they haven't done it all year. Say your AI is good and covers just about every situation with good outputs, but a team finds a small hole. The question is, to what point can they exploit it and keep the game authentic. Everyone knows that PM has no problem exploiting that hole to fullest extent which isn't a knock on their coaches, it's just how they play. Now, they are going to piss a lot of people off, because I think most people won't go the 80 carry route out of one formation.

Now with Project pretty much locking up the #1 seed, the question is now, are they the favorites to come out of the West. I think the only ones who will say that they are, are the one's on their team, and that is how it should be. Hell, I wouldn't put it past the Demonik to pull the 8 vs. 1 upset in the first round. We will see how far Project can take this strategy. What will be interesting is when a team runs the ball 80 times with their powerback at PM when they find something that they can exploit. Now I ask you, will you be prepared?

Damnit catcher, way to give away my gameplan

Not if we get to them first.

It has nothing to do with the 80 runs, but it has everything to do with the fact that you couldn't make stops. As far as being prepared, I think that point was proven today, was it not?

My point entirely, you can't predict that and that is what makes being a DC difficult where they need to focus on a playbook and not only past performance. Any good OC is going to change along the way, the DC needs to be prepared for anything and not just what they did the last few games. Of course there are things that come up with scouting that I won't mention, but I would think this makes sense...For the record I am bored to death right now, so feel free to tell me to stop at any point!

Point being, if you looked at them for even 2 minutes you'd be more worried about stopping the run than the pass....

lets see, here is PM against some of the better teams they played this season:

3/7 Fresno Jaguars - http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=382607
Project X - 48 carries for 172

3/13 San Diego Blaze - http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=382610
Project X - 50 carries for 194

3/17 Colt 45s - http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=382612
Project X - 71 carries for 268

3/13 Somalia Warlords - http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=452242
Project X - 50 carries for 195

Yea, I'd probably guess "lets work on stopping Project X first and foremost" over "lets work on stopping a TE" that you got baited on b/c the previous 2 games against bullshit teams PM threw him the ball 20 times a game all of a sudden and you saw stats there

well, honestly, we've been tweaking the playbook all season, but we honestly felt we'd be exploited one of two ways.

TE or Power HB.

Nobody has been able to run on us ALL year, PB or not. So we gambled and thought we'd focus on the pass, because after a quick score or two, we would have forced PM into a passing game.

Unfortunately, we threw a pick 6 on the first or second drive and played behind the rest of the game, where PM could just pound the ball the rest of the game.

oh well, we learned, I just am not confident we'll be able to stop ANY PB with any degree of certainty.

I'm not a fan, when it happened to you or when it happens to anyone, it's pretty much a fucked up sim when this is and has been going on for a long time, several seasons to be honest. In any real game, teams would never get away with it, because players would learn and coaches would make adjustments. This sim isn't simulating anything remotely close to realism at the moment and I'm not talking about players statistics. The problem I had with Comptons post, and this one as well is that it seems to be ok when it happens to someone else, but not when it happens to your team. Compton didn't bring up the Fresno or San Diego game, even in their post, they were only concerned about their game. More or less the same with Tallahassee, I think Dawgs said it was "rough" or something, but then they basically dared them to try it against them and now we get another post. It sucks, it's unrealistic, it was good scouting to spot the hole in Tallahassee's D. Would I have taken advantage of it if I saw it, bet your ass, would I have taken advantage of it 80 times, certainly not. Bort should have taken care of this three seasons ago, and if people gave a shit about this all the time, and not just when it happened to their team, he would have been forced to.

My advice to you Hate is to build your defense around the playbook and not worry so much about what you saw last game. You posted that PM never ran to the left but we did today, I call that a good OC who did his homework and a DC who just watches every game and is not prepared to handle the playbook itself....Your AI needs to be able to handle all formations and build from there. We might run Pro Set all day the next time we meet but you may never have seen us use it up until that game....Are you prepared?

Hate to butt in, but Philadelphia has to beat Dallas next game for that 8 seed. I'm just sayin.

That's a consequence of not being able to sit on the sideline and adjust the gameplan as you play. If it turned out that they were playing a D that shut that play down, I'd have been just as screwed.
