High School recruiting is what makes College football
The NFL Draft is a better measure because that's telling you how good the guys got during college instead of what some scouting service said they would be coming out of high school. Don't get me wrong, recruiting matters and is certainly why the SEC has traditionally been the best conference, but a lot of recruiting classes don't live up to the hype.

If you went down the line and played 1 vs 1 all the way down to 12 vs 12 I say the SEC wins at least 8 of the 12 games.
Most years, probably, but not the last two. For instance, South Carolina got owned by Clemson and Vanderbilt lost to both Duke and Wake Forest. Mississippi also lost to Wake Forest, and I'm sure you remember Georgia Tech finally beating Georgia (they also beat MSU). The ACC didn't have anyone nearly as strong as Florida or Alabama, but after that they were better teams than the rest of the SEC.
