They should all be thrown out. Not sure what you would call a "truly remarkable" performance against a cupcake team.

I'll take matchup into account, but I'm not throwing any game out. When teams beat up on the Rams or Raiders, the NFL doesn't throw their records out, and neither will we. That said, if there is a great performance vs. a solid team, it will have more weight than a great performance vs. a gut.

Are you trying to say the difference between the best and worst teams in the NFL is comparable to the best and worst here?

No, I never said that. Would you rather take on this task?

Is it bad from to nominate a player? I'd like to nominate our RDE Bruce A. Pressure. 8 Tackles (1 for a loss), 5 Sacks, and 8 Hurries today in only 46 snaps (90/95 sub setting). I see he's not the only DE with an impressive stat line and there are many other worthy defensive players, but I wanted to give my guy some credit. He has a very balanced non-exploitive build too. If there's a secret hidden "x factor" attribute Bruce rolled whatever the highest number is.

Whatever dude. Seems like you have pretty thin skin. I assumed you were open to ideas. I won't make that mistake again.

I am, though I didn't see an idea anywhere in your posts, so I'm not sure what I was supposed to do with it. I agreed that a performance vs. a gut does not mean nearly as much as a performance vs. a non-gut -- what else were you looking for?

And then I said they shouldn't be considered at all. You then posted an NFL example which I thought had no relevance at all. You then asked me if I would like to take on this task.

I appreciate you putting this together (as I stated earlier). I just think it is a big mistake to even look at stats vs. gutted teams.

Fair enough, I will overlook the games vs. the guts -- 3 in Alpha, right?

Sorry for being snippy -- just in a bad mood.

It all boils down to a matter of personal opinion anyways and we all respect SCACE's.

I could have been more diplomatic in my posts. I'm an asshole in real life and sometimes it comes out in my posts.

Though Big Ben and DA did get Pro Bowl bids by beating up an easy schedule last season.

But that's besides the point.

I think you have to take the performances vs. guts into account, but I think it is a mistake to disqualify a player from player of the week simply because of his opponent. Instead, you consider his stats given the opponent. TTP picked off three passes against the Warriors today, which is a great accomplishment no matter how you slice it. Yes, it is less impressive vs. a weak team, but three picks against any team is not an easy task (especially with a 6 CB depth chart).

That said, I think Vin and ATO had great games at HB for us, but I would not consider those performances POW worthy when you take into account the opponent. Maybe someone else would still consider them worthy, but I don't.

Basically, I am just saying that all games need to be considered, but the level of competition needs to be taken into account.

I see someone at 88 pancakes today. Almost half of what they had all of last season.

Congrats all.

But especially to Charlie . . . 62 yards average . . . sweet!
