The best thing that happened this season for Saipan is the firing of the GMs mid season. They haven't won a game but the Tongan Crimson Auha can attest they are players in the League under the right management and players.

Possibly our last printing in the Oceania Pro League for awhile. With the economic times at hand it may just be easy to print a section in the General Oceania Area so all can keep track of the going ons of the Saipan Fighters. The demotion from Pro to AAA and the rumors of bankruptcy have hit the air waves in Saipan. The Fighters have been struggling this season just to meet salary demands and with the Tsunami that whipped out half of the stadium, rebuilding is taking some time. Some how owner comicfanman convinced the banks of Saipan to float a loan to try and salvage his team for the season. Season seven will be an interesting one with no funds to rebuild after the disaster so don't expect any big bonuses to be given to any of the Fighters roster.

Negotiations again have been very trying on comicfanman. Trying to recruit top tier talent to compete has been difficult to say the least with continued failure to produce a winning season since season one. Though most of the roster will be in tact for season 7 there are some key hits to the starting lineup.

John Fourcade leaving at QB will be a big hit for the offense. The shocking announcement of FB Lead Blocker retiring has cause tormoil for the running game. Probably one of the reasons JR McClinton is holding out, without a good blocker what is the since of having a running game? Johnny Rose who came in to finish the season off at QB has failed to meet with comicfanman to discuss next season so you can mark him as good as gone as well. Several of the backups are looking to relocate to lower leagues for their chance to start on another team. Three other key starters for the offense are in negotiations, but are most likely to move on as well.

On the defensive side the team looks pretty good except in the defensive backfield. Only three defensive backs have signed for season seven. Gerald Alexander has decided to hang it up and retire in the Bahamas. Hawk Carrillo was not happy with his return production on the Fighters so he is moving on. And Andre Woolfolk has also retired fromt he sport. Evil Eye and Carmine "The Snake" Persico are holding out at the moment. Defense looks to be solid overall if a few key signings happen.

Big talks are happening in the QB role for season 7. Three top quarterbacks are looking to take the helm and it is very exciting to see who will take the lead role for season 7. A fresh face at halfback may also happen as Saipan has been talking to a big time runner with an eight yard average on the season. Wide receiver and tight end negotiations are almost finalized with some great prospects. The voids at free and strong safety are secured by new faces and possibly look for a new face at defensive end for the Fighters. An ex team member will be rejoining the cornerback staff and the DC is excited to have Jerry Wiggins returning. Comicfanman is also trying to work a deal to bring back an ex returner and cornerback of the Fighters, but this is not set in stone.

We don't. You guys always forget that Saipan is the best worst team in GLB.

Breaking news in Saipan today. Comicfanman and agent LeadUsNot struck a deal that will benifit the Fighters and all four players LeadUsNot represents. Three of the four members have been with the Fighters since season one week eleven when comicfanman took ownership, so this works out great for the fans who get to continue to see three of the original Fighters battle on the field. Center Can't Get Right, tight end Hop And Bop, and wide receiver Catch Anything have decided to give the ownership one more chance to turn things around. They see the potential and with their meetings with LeadUsNot and cornerback Carmine "The Snake" Persico they all want to see the Fighters return to the Pro League.

This is a big tension releiver in Saipan folks as now their roster is almost complete. With a few agents ready to sign on in the off season, the Fighters should be ready to do battle in season 7. As far as finances and the bankruptcytalks, well of course as always, STAY TUNED.....

I don't think so, I am pretty sure just another team will move up. We will continue a news report soon. Just not sure where it will be.

Saipan Fighters have been working diligently to fill all roster openings. Almost all current players are returning and some of the openings are already committed to. A couple of more moves and the roster shall be complete. The addition of quarterback Franklin Roosevelt seems to have been a good one as he went 12/12 with 4 TD passes in his first scrimmage as a Fighter. Tonight he will have full reigns to get used to the Saipan play books. Keep an eye on slippery Hands McFly as season seven takes off, as receivers go he is one of the sneakiest out there. Look for some big things from him as Saipan moves forward.

As season six comes to an end it looks as though the Fighters will be heading back to their home territory in AAA. This is where they originally came from before comicfanman took the team over and stepped up to the Pros a little to early. We should see some good things from the staff and players next season as the Fighters plan their return to the PROs.

Big championship game today with the favored West Scranton Invaders facing the always strong Banzai Pipeline 'Nites. Look for a good game and possibly a shocker tonight as someone is looking for bragging rights for season seven.
