Great game PTT!! You should give Gunner Arsenal a huge freakin raise. He was unstoppable on 3rd down and long. I cant count how many 3rd down with 7+ yards to go you guys converted, wow.

Of course, the sim screwed us with the missed xp at the end for us to lose by 1 point .

Good luck guys

Yeah...It was a great game,Gunner Arsenal's TD was his first in this season lol.
But sadly this might be our final season together. So there's no doubt we'll try extra hard and see how far we can get.

The league is falling apart at the seams.
The Villagers too? Wow.

I predict that if we win tomorrow and Tuesday that we'll be conference champs

I really hope so. If I were religious, I'd make sure to pray for a win

After playing this game for 3+ seasons now I consider winning out in the playoffs to be very similar to winning the World Series of Poker Main Event. You have to be good, and most importantly, you have to get lucky. I don't care how good a team is...if you don't get lucky then don't expect to move up. I've heard of quite a few undefeated/1-loss teams in other leagues that were knocked out by a #8 seed and the amount of very good teams getting upset is a little alarming to me. So I figure it has gotten to the point where its 60% luck, 30% gameplanning, and 10% team player builds.

Still, whoever wins it all deserves it. I don't think a lower seed will win it since their luck will run out. It will be a top team that takes it in the West.

Edit: Oh and good luck to the remaining teams. I think this is the season a West team wins the league championship.

Looks like Honolulu goes to it's 4th straight conference championship game. And, we get another shot at the Huskers for the title.

Well, good game HI. At this point I'm hoping that you win the division so that we don't have to deal with you guys again. Certainly no shame in an overtime loss, and I thought we put up a pretty good effort, really slowing down your running game and getting pressure on the QB in regulation. But you seem to just be a team that has our number.

I have to admit, I was pretty surprised by the outcome of our game today, Dmac2008. I thought the game would be lower-scoring and closer. You guys have played really well this season, but today apparently just wasn't your day. Congrats on the good season, anyway.

There are a number of reasons that #1 seeds get upset by #8 seeds. The biggest reason is I think teams spend way more time game planning. Another reason is they are underdogs in their own eyes so they try things that may have seemed outrageous in the regular season. Basically the equivalent of going “ALL IN” with Ace King before you see the flop.

On the flip side I think a lot of #1 seeds take things for granted some and may not plan and scout as hard. At the stage we are in this game now most of the teams that have level 30+ players are on a level playing field so the game plan is huge.

Good points except for the game-planning part, you cant really say if a team spends time game-planning or doesn't take another seriously, cuz you have no idea whats going on behind closed doors. Ive always said the playoffs in GLB are a crap shoot at best, you can put the right game-plan down, but really, its up to the sim and however the equations work out...Its ll based on %'s which in definition, would be luck.

Winning in the playoffs is no different than laying chips all over a roulette table and hoping your number comes up more than it doesn't.

Well, let me say that it definitely seems like upsets are a little more common in the playoffs. And I think my explanation for that might be that morale is a bigger issue for whatever reason. So if an underdog gets a little lucky and has a good drive, they can extend that momentum more easily in the playoffs. I have seen many playoff games where teams suddenly performed very well or very poorly in an area where they had been consistent all season.

I am sorry for not posting earlier but the first round was a great win for us... Not so much in our second game but I am pleased none-the-less.

Thats what I said to Ops yesterday, I believe the morale effects are magnified, watch our game against DV, it is a very plausible explanation:

They hit a couple big plays early, and it took us until the 4th quarter to build our morale back up. Then we score 3 TDs in the 4th quarter, while holding them to only 3 points...We ran out of time.

I definately believe the morale penalty/rewards are magnified, but thats what I don't understand. Why wouldn't Bort tell the players about such things when there is really no reason to hide it? Its not exploitable, and if its common knowledge, there are no advantages.

There are many things about the way GLB works in which I feel are kept 'secret' when the players have every right to know. Not code or equations, but how different things are applied to the sim.
