Military bases across the city are closed. The Walmart Pharmacy is completely the fuck open.

People responsible for combating terrorists and protecting the nation: This weather is too dangerous for normal daily operations
Walmart: Nah it's fine, come on in.

Government workers don't have a profit/have to make money to make payroll incentive. Private world does.

Military bases are always quick to have a delayed opening or closing.

also, pretty sure there's a higher probability of someone needing their meds on a particular day than terrorists hitting a city in Colorado.

also, there's no need to polish the missiles in a blizzard during peacetime. it's not just about the personnel, it's also about the equipment.

Can't decide what's more miserable...funerals or airports at Christmas. Leaning towards airports.

I lean towards Christmas.

One of my favorite days of the year is December 26th

The only happy person you see in an airport is the random TSA agent that's only happy because they just stole something valuable.

At least Christmas has food.

If you pay attention, you'll notice that military bases close to nonessential personnel in inclement weather.

They don't close to everyone.

Some GATES might be closed, but there are plenty of folks who have to work still.

Those missile polishers still have to work in a blizzard.

Sure, but we're talking an extremely small % for most bases. "Plenty" mistakenly makes it seem sizable.

Very random.
I work with TSA a lot, and the vast majority of the blue shirts are honest, dedicated, and ethical folks who take their jobs seriously. Are there lazy people, unethical thieves and corrupt folks in the TSA? Sure, just like there are lazy people, unethical thieves and corrupt folks in WalMart, the Army, General Motors, the Catholic Church, any group of people you can name.

depends on the post.

Training posts, yeah not many folks coming in.

18th Airborne Corps or deployable unit post? I'd imagine the RDF/QRF/RED units are coming in (and staying there), along with whatever elements from the installation are needed to push them out, so that's a sizable number.
