Anyone familiar with groupon? I ordered something from there about 2 weeks ago, I get an email saying "your order is shipping soon." You can track your package and it says "preparing to ship." Then below it says "packed and ready to ship. Estimated to ship between 2-3 business days." It's been 10...the fuck? I'm thinking it's cause of Black Friday, but you'd think they'd be prepared for that?

groupon aren't the ones doing the shipping, but if you leaned on them you'd probably get an answer.

True. It's UPS....and I did Contact them just waiting for a response. Just was seeing if anyone's had an issue like this before

More importantly the company whose product you bought. Groupon isn't Amazon with a company's products in a Groupon warehouse. They likely sold more then they could handle from a processing standpoint and are just catching up.

no, it's not UPS. groupon is a glorified dropshipper and you actually bought from their client (i.e. the company whose product you purchased through groupon).

for that matter, amazon is increasingly a glorified dropshipper as well. in fact, many of their products tagged as "shipment fulfilled by amazon" aren't actually warehoused by amazon.

I read your post wrong. I thought you meant it was the shipping carrier. I see what you mean now.

You're powdering the wrong parts imo.

You want the inner sock to stick to your foot and the outer sock to stick to the boot, so that the movement/friction exists between the socks.

So you would want to powder your foot after putting on the first sock to ease movement between those layers.

I just posted what worked for me.

The concept is that the powder absorbs sweat. I never considered the lubricating properties of the powder. Multiple layers means water gets taken away from the skin.

Polyp and wool or a gortex type sock would work great too.

Hell, I went through 2 weeks at Ft Greely in February working outside and living in tents wearing just thick Poly P and gortex shell (with VB Boots, arctic mittens and a Balaclava of course).
That hawk screaming in at 40mph with the ambient temps at -15 on average can kick your ass, but that US Army Arctic gear was marvelous.

Skijoring. God that sucked. I dont miss the Army at all.

Yeah. Learned that in boot camp also. Powder the inside of the sock so it wicks away the moisture. Those OLD army boots didn't breathe nearly as well as the nice jump boots I got later. Another neat trick was the pantyhose stockings. Once inside the boot and the pants, it can't be seen and really helps a lot. Plus, after you've worn them several times (they were only good for maybe 10 marches before the leather chewed a hole in them) they were the best spitshine cloths you could find. Double duty. HO-AAH!

Jump boots? You mean Jungle boots? Jump boots were the absolute worst things ever. Seriously, I know the Army is changing, but this has always been gay.

Nah. This was the first introduction of the new 'Jump Boots' (not the old style ones) and they were fairly flexible from the ankle up. Still had issues with the flex in the arch though. You could still spit shine the lower parts. I think the jungle boots came out just after I joined the Navy because I saw some of them and yeah... they looked way different.
