Basically this woman is suicidal and hates herself because she is fat and bulimic. Thinks she isn't good enough for anything. I wasn't actually there when she did this but I relieved the guy who went with her to the ER and watched her get stitched up. Apparently there were chucks of fat all over our unit floor when she had ripped them out with her bare hands.

while we're on the topic of mental disorders, i saw a guy last night i hadn't seen since high school but heard hella stories about. he was a good skater in the local area and had his own business, really popular and had a chance to actually go big. popularity hit him hard with partying and drugs, was sectioned a while back and was diagnosed as psychotic. was shittyyy to see him like that.

The truly fucked up thing is that just about anyone can snap in the wrong circumstances. We had a guy before who had a psychotic break because he got laid off and was going to be evicted as a result.

We dont have asylums anymore. I work at a dedicated psych hospital (no medical facilities thats why we had to send the patient to the ER).The difference is that our patients are only there for 7-10 days on average. Longest I have ever seen a patient stay was almost 2 months. We do have a residential treatment center for kids where they stay 6 months to a year but thats much less restrictive than the inpatient part. We also do detox for alcohol and opioids as well as a 21 day rehab program.

Migraine medication isn't too many shades better than the migraine itself. I have an annoying burning stinging sensation in the back of my head, I have a weird disgusting taste in my mouth, Im sweating, I have a separate headache from the medication that isnt technically a migraine, and I cant take anything for it because it's a side effect, and for no reason the wrist I messed up bowling now hurts more
