How about a new set of names every season?
The respective conference winners get to have the conference named after them as reward.
Blaze Conference and Navigator Conference.
OR
That conference winner gets to choose the conference name for the upcoming season

might be cool if both teams ended up in "their" conference, but right now both teams are in the same conference!
