i agree. i grow 3-4 plants of Anaheim chiles every year. i make a mean pork green chili. and salsa verde.

never grown green. as easy as red? I usually do a red cause the one I do is easier than fuck. i don't touch it all summer and I pick shitloads in the fall.

most chiles will turn red if you leave them on the vine long enough. I LOVE letting my jalapenos stay on the vine until they turn red. they are so fruity tasting that way

i have never grown my own chile.

i leave that to the professionals

chiles are about the easiest thing to grow. i literally plant them and leave them since they dont need much watering

Easy to grow for sure, but the flavors are different depending on soil and climate. 'Terroir' is the fancy word for it. In the hydroponic world it's all the conditions we research effects of because it essentially creates epigenetic-like changes across the same exact seed lots.

That's why you get hatch chiles from Hatch Valley, New Mexico and everrrrrrybody buys them nationally come the harvest season. It's like champagne only coming from the Champagne region in France...only it's hot peppers, lol.
