I was thinking I would just do double points reset. That's a lot of points to move around.

Also Jed, I changed OT killer to a flat 5% bonus, with 20 seconds per level of the skill. I agree that the 1% per level was dumb.




Um double points reset is not enough. We're talking wholesale changes to many VA's and at least 15 new ones. Is double points reset in ADDITION to free specific resets for each VA changed?

Dear Life Clinger(Tehkyou): When this player misses a tackle he is able to hang on till death (figuratively
speaking). Each level of Dear Life Clinger gives a +2% chance drag the ball carrier when missing a tackle. (Requirements:
40 tackling)

I like this, except I'd like to see a .5% morale loss per point associated with it, as well. Needs a new name, too.

Since there are so many pro-QB/WR VAs being implemented, there has to be at least one for CBs.

Slot Cover Corner: This CB is money when covering the slot. For each level of Slot Cover Corner, this player receives a 3% bonus to the strength of Swat Ball and Shutdown Coverage special abilities and a 1% bonus to vision when playing man coverage. Ability applies only when playing in the CB3 position.

CBs don't use closing speed. WRs get chased down because they have to slow down because either (1) the QB isn't strong enough to make the throw, or (2) the WR doesn't have enough catching or vision to make the catch on the run without taking a speed penalty. CS also only works until the defender is 5 yards away from the ball carrier, so it isn't that good of a VA to begin with.

Did Communicate make the cut? It seems like a lot of D line VAs got added but not many O line VAs.

Any concern that player tactics are going to be totally dictated by their VAs? I mean some DCs and OCs do try to game plan and adjust tactics per game. Now many players will simply ignore suggestions more than they already do.

Nice idea, since shutdown coverage is pretty powerful, might want to change the % to 2% bonus though. Especially since both those VAs add a deflect pass bonus.

I like it to be honest, player builds should dictate the tactics to be honest. DCs need to learn to play to the strength of their players, instead of demanding players change to fit his tactics (I'm a DC on 4 teams)

I totally agree that DCs should play to the strengths of their players. The problem is that bugs still happen and sometimes the work around is to change the player tactics until the bug is fixed. Now this will mean either live with the bug or lose 15 VP that can't be used because the player is not using the right tactic.

One way to avoid that may be to restrict the opposite side of the spectrum.

So instead of 'MUST BE ON RUN FOCUS, make it, CANNOT BE ON PASS FOCUS. (This opens up balanced also). So atleast there is a little wiggle room.

Also the power, balanced, and evasive never worked as advertised. If I recall correct the power setting simply has less vision checks during the rush as the player is not looking for a easier path they are simply trying to blitz in a straight line.

I think Balanced is a 50/50 shot at either power or evasive. Which is not bad for some DEs imo since it mixes stuff up. Now they have to be one or the other.

I tend to ask my LBs that blitz to use power so they hit the holes on time instead of waisting time looking for a hole in the offense.

As for the run vs pass. What if you face a team that passes every down. I know it is not common as most teams run every down in GLB but some day there may be a sim that favors a pass heavy team. Now why would you want your D line set to run vs a team that passes every down? If they have a VA that only works in with the run focus tactic it will be hard if not impossible to ask the player to make 15 VP worthless.
