Harmon Killebrew is the BEST slugger you've never paid any attention to: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harmon_Killebrew
His % of hits that went for homeruns is impressive. Clearly spent his whole career lumberjacking, though.
Just for fun, and in no true complete ranking or care of steroid-use.
Percentage of Hits Going for Homeruns
McGwire - 35.85%
Killebrew - 27.47%
Bonds - 25.96%
Sosa - 25.29%
Ruth - 24.85%
Greenberg - 20.33%
Aaron - 20.02%
Gehrig - 18.12%

One of the greatest guys you could ever meet as well.
I can remember stories of the guy from media events where he would tell current players that they really needed to take their times with their autographs and how the fans had paid to watch them, paid to get in to the media event and waited in line for a signature and how incredible it was that people wanted their autographs on how blessed they were to be in that position so the players owed it to them to have legible signatures for the fans and to slow down and appreciate those moments which might seem tedious.

I remember that time The Killer was walking into the locker room and I handed him a Coke and he tossed his batting gloves to me.

Love him or hate him, the thing that really stood out to me was something Roids couldn't help him with... his batting eye. He broke Ruth's walk records. His OBP was unearthly. And he didn't strike out much for a 'slugger' like McGwire and Sosa. In a way it's kinda sad that he did roids. I think he would've broken the records anyways.

Haven't seen him lately. I'm assuming his forehead is larger than an aircraft carrier by now.

Bonds was the best hitter I have ever seen. Supremely talented.
I don't think I have ever heard of anyone else being intentionally walked with the bases loaded.

Happened to a guy named Swish Nicholson at the back end of a double-header in the 40s/50s. At the time he had hit 6 home runs in a 48 hour span: one in a Friday night game, one in a Saturday game and then had hit 4 homeruns in the Sunday double-header. The intentional walk was probably a good idea.

not certain the guy on left would have been the Home Run King
consistent 30-30 guy for sure but no 755+ guy without roids
