If you have a defense that has say 100 tackles over the team that has 200 I would argue that the 100 tackle team is much better. They are able to get the offense on the field faster and let them do their job in winning the game. So you can look at D stats all you want but they don't mean all that much to me. I completly agree with you on that one. If you look at my above post I purposly did not include any tackle stats or anything that would favor a defense that stays on the field the whole game. Our defensive players dont get half the snaps as our offensive guys and I view that as a very good thing. You hit the nail on the head for defensive stats.

FYI I listed the top (bottom) defenses in the west based on amount of tackles.

1) Chicago "MB" Bears - 303 total tackles
2) Talahassee Seminoles - 306
3) Omaha Mavericks - 311
4) Carribean Sphere -336
5) Houston Orangebloods - 337

If you look at all the interceptions, sacks, fumbles, etc and consider those defenses did it in far fewer opportunities it is even more impressive.
