I know, right. Backs that should get only a few touches IRL but can hit the homerun would be able to do the same thing on GLB..makes sense to me.

much like the uber speed WR builds with little catching...they are homerun threats but nothing completely consistent. and from the looks of the latest test server knocked loose fix....soon to be fumble kings...

I kinda wish kurieg/Bukowski and the rest of would direct the conversion to this tbh..a 48 strength back being viable, but not for many touches a game because he will get jacked up after a few leading to low morale.

OK.. So getting hit with low Strength would hurt a RBs morale?

But what about faking said defender? That should be able to punish the defenders morale as well.

It can't just be one-sided.

Many times elusives are one move from gone. Changing their pathing in a couple situations could have a serious effect without touching anything build balance wise.

This, and Deathblade's pathing fix would be satisfactory.

To not fumble?

Carrying + CoverUp

To break tackles?

You are talking about a combo

By holding onto the ball.

Knowing where to carry the ball isn't enough. It will not help you if you don't have the strength to stop your arms getting torn off.

A back with 48 strength is also likely to go down fast when hit hard/wrapped up, leading to a decrease in fumbles..kind of like how AP has an increase of fumbles because he fights for every extra yard.

i can't help but watch this argument unfold...only thinking to myself...

the guys that are arguing that strength isnt needed only want to use this HB on a handful of plays and maybe 3-4 touches a game...great...go do it...add no strength whatsoever...what are you really fighting about? you are building him to miss defenders...and hopefully he will do so...if he does...there really isnt a problem is there?

the guys that are arguing this HB needs strength to hold on to the ball figure this guy should fumble a lot if he is a consistent ball carrier...he probably will and should if he is a primary ball carrier...great...

good talk...

No, it doesn't. If it did, we wouldn't have had a huge complaint thread in GLB main and subsequent Suggestions thread addressing faked defenders tackling running backs. The problem with fakes was determined to be precisely that HBs who fake defenders are not then attempting to elude the defenders who are temporarily frozen.

I don't think it does. If it has, it has never been confirmed.

I asked PP to ask Bort this very question, but I never got an answer.

Let's not go there. I have to watch over a hundred games each season for my job. Most backs don't attempt jukes, and even fewer are actually competent at doing so.

Agility and vision should give you the ability to do so without SAs because of your ability to make quick cuts and change your path causes defenders to lose their balance. If Power RBs can break tackles without SAs, why can't elusive RBs make defenders lose their balance without SAs?

Elusive HBs already force defenders to lose speed by making cuts. I don't know what is so difficult for you to understand about that. Again, please watch a punt return. The gunners will be flying down the field to close with the returner, then if the returner makes a significant cut, the gunners have to slow considerably and adjust their angle to pursue. This stuff already happens in the sim. As Deathblade said early on and I have repeated numerous times, the "fix" for agility-based running backs is simply to make the pathing better. Elusive /= faking, and I'm beyond tired of dishonest people pretending otherwise. Elusive means eluding defenders, which is what you do by making cuts and moving away from defenders. When those cuts are made, defenders already need comparable agility to mirror that movement or else they slow down. This stuff is already in there, the pathing just needs to be improved.

Jdbolick, you have completely dodged my post and posted the same thing that doesn't address what I have been saying at all every time. Stop posting that same comment.

Actually address what I am saying, do players in real life not lose their balance or fall when a player makes a quick cut or cutback?(don't lie, I have videos that show this exact thing happening)

Next question, does agility and vision not help you do this better and better?

Next question, shouldn't RBs with high agility and vision be able to cutback and make quick cuts incredibly well causing defenders to lose their balance or fall down?

Next question, is this not eluding the defender?

Next question, if a defender falls down did you not elude him successfully?

Next question, why can power RBs run over guys with pure strength if you elusive guys can't force people to lose their balance with pure agility?

Final question, how is labeling a RB an elusive RB not make him a faking RB when the Power RB is not labeled a Break Tackle RB and can still break tackles?

It probably does, so there's no way to know.

HB vision = fail right now though. That needs to be addressed before either of these would work.

Ya, but that mechanic's in there already, including dragging/rip the ball, etc.

That's an actual dynamic that's already accounted for and needs nothing done to touch.

This isn't real life and this isn't the same as you are describing. They are using agility and vision to cause the other guy to lose their balance, not really faking but we call it faking because that is how you describe the defender shrinking. Agility and vision should give you the ability to do so without SAs because of your ability to make quick cuts and change your path causes defenders to lose their balance. If Power RBs can break tackles without SAs, why can't elusive RBs make defenders lose their balance without SAs?

Agl should give a inherent ability to fake.

Thank you.

For all those arguing they shouldn't:
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1828329
Check the BTK numbers and the build, no SAs and yet he can break 139 tackles in 139 touches.

For the record - I don't really build Elusive Backs anymore.

What I end up building, is basically a combo back. Reason being, there really isn't much of a place in this SIM for an Elusive back, which is what a lot of us are arguing for.
