I wish YAC Attack boosted elusive as well as power.

Yeah, the first thing I realized was that I couldn't really squeeze any normal SA's into the build. Currently thinking Silver Home Town Hero, Silver Road Warrior, and Gold Juke?

Should finish with 64 elusive rushing. If his defender misses the immediate tackle, stuff can happen, otherwise...not really sure if it'll do anything. Also wondering if I need that much (or any) receiving grip, shouldn't the elusive rushing rolls make it harder to land a quality tackle and knock the ball loose?

That would be worth testing actually. Put nothing into rec grip and see if that is true or not.

Yeah, I love juke. It is fun to watch in the sim.

By the time the elusive rushing rolls come into play, I would think carrying grip would be in effect, not receiving grip.

First broken tackle because of elusive rushing? Currently at 25 (+5 from player tactics)

Hot stuff!

Although this was well after the original catch, but at least a random occasional play is being made.

So my latest test says Strip Tech alone isn't enough to cause a decent amount of fumbles.

Final build (FS):

Man Awareness 36
Zone Awareness 97
Tackling Tech 74
Power Tackling 12
Strip Technique 91
Tackling Grip 29
Pursuit 94
Def Consistency 36
Quickness 60
Sprinting 77
Conditioning 69
Heart 32
Gold Opportunist
Gold Closing Speed

In his 30 game vet season, he amassed:
179 Tackles
229 Assisted Tackles
10 Missed Tackles
142 Sticks
11 Forced Fumbles
14 Passes Defensed

So he forced a fumble 2.7% of the time he was in a successful tackling interaction. That doesn't seem like enough to be worth the SP investment in strip tech. Also, a large portion of those FFUM came on punt coverage, so his percentage in normal defensive play is a lot lower than 2.7%. I don't think momentum was really an issue with the Closing Speed and high Pursuit, plus the decent Quickness, Sprinting and Conditioning. Watching replays, he was moving around pretty well.

Maybe you could be super generous and call all those 14 PDs KLs from Strip Tech too, since he had zero investment in coverage skills, but he got the odd deflection according to the play by play. Going to try this again adding Power Tackling to the mix and swapping out Closing Speed for Monster Hit. Strip Tech will have to be quite a bit lower though.

Of note, I capped out strip tech on that build early, and he was forcing a lot more fumbles in lower tiers (as many as 3 a game). I am guessing the competition caught up on carrying grip though enough to neutralize the strip tech.

I also don't think it's enough alone even if Opportunist fires.

I believe when Opportunist fires you only have time for 1 roll, as the ballcarrier is going down immediately due to a gangtackle, so you want the best possible roll there. Highest power tackling, strip, etc for that. I had a linebacker with insane levels of that, didn't work out as well as I expected.

Yeah, that is probably a good point. There were a few replays I watched where my FS caused fumbles a few ticks into a drag situation. There was even one where the ball carrier didn't go down: was dragging my FS for a bit, fumbled, but kept running (can't remember if my FS stayed gripped or let go to go after the ball). Wish I kept a link to show what I am talking about.

Maybe he needs more tackle grip? Did he get thrown to the ground alot?

No, as evidenced by the following stats:

Only 10 missed tackles out of 418 total tackle interactions is not what I would call a lot. You can see from the sticks that in solo tackle situations, the high tackle tech puts the ball carrier on the ground right away most of the time, even with zero SP in power tackling. Sure, a missed tackle is possible in a combo tackle situation, but let's ignore those as less likely and high tackle tech is putting the ball carrier on the ground 75% of the time. Of the rest, 29 grip was enough to complete the tackle another 20% of the time, which leaves about 5% of solo tackles at risk from 29 tackle grip. That said, would have taken it a bit higher if I had the cap, which I didn't with a 1 Strength build.

Got my first definitive highlight reel play because of elusive rushing!

The broken tackle rate is still really low, but this has potential!

My second try at a FFum FS just got 4 FFum in a game, which is more than the first try ever got. To boot, Opportunist or Monster Hit didn't fire on any of them, so they are "unboosted" FFums. Even better, none of them were off sacks or on ST. All caused against RBs in regular play (3 against HB, 1 against FB).
