I don't have to, you told us:

after I graduate I will actually have MORE time off than I do currently. I will most likely take a few years where I only work 8 months out of the year then just do whatever the other 4 months.

you think the same thing that MANY college students think, that your life as a student is incredibly busy and you have so many responsibilities and things to do, and that things will be more relaxed and easier when you hit the real world.
sorry to burst that bubble, but no.

well then good for you for working that out before you graduate. I mean that.
but don't be surprised if the plans blow up, either.
you didn't indicate earlier that it was already a done deal, it read much more like many college students pipe dream of 'I'll never bow down to the man and focus on my career, I'm going to backpack in Europe for four months every year and be sure to focus on me'
sorry if I misinterpreted. I'm curious, if you don't mind sharing, how you managed to line that up and in what industry?

Nbd

I work in wildland firefighting. For the past 3 years I have worked the 3 months that being a student allows me to work. However every summer my position is on automatic rehire if I want the position back. (this also makes it easy to transfer to other areas as you gain more experience). So once I graduate I can work the full extent of what they hire seasonals on for (which is generally 6-8 months). Living in New Mexico you can live off what you make in those months. Meaning no real need to work the other 4-6 months (atleast not if you are single and not trying to buy a house etc etc, you get the drift)

I'll allow that possibility. been busier than shit lately. 11th day w/o a day off, and the majority of those have been 12+ hour days, the shortest has been 9.
I'm ready for a nap.
