So... there's a few fires up here that are kind of becoming a problem. The smoke is so think that there is an Environment Canada health warning about the smoke active for the whole province. There's some pictures of what it is like here:

There are 121 active fires in the province, 52 are greater than 100 hectares (247 acres, 0.4 square miles). There have been 505 wildfires in Saskatchewan this season compared to 183 in all of last year.

Nothing is anywhere near Saskatoon, but the smoke is so bad right now (this far away) that I can't imagine how bad it must be up North where all the fires are. There's a lot of people with homes up North and even just vacation cabins that are going to lose them.

My city was like that twice in the last couple years. At noon in July on a cloudless day you could stare almost directly at the red-brown sun with no sunglasses. At sunset, the entire city had a red shade to it. The air physically felt dirty, it was a feeling that you can't really simply convey to another person who's been in it

I wish I hadn't left my phone at home today... it has gotten to the point where my visibility is down to about 200 feet.

There's the old joke about Saskatchewan being so flat that you can see your dog run away for three days... so now there's a whole bunch of worried Saskatchewan people trying to find their dogs.

NC is up to 6 shark bites in the last month. some vicious fcking bites too.

feeling pretty sad today. this guy was a good friend of mine growing up. He would sneak me into his house so i had a place to sleep when i was basically homeless. Every morning his mom would find me sleeping on the floor and he would get in trouble. but he was always there for me. He never really made it out of the drug culture we grew up in, and to say he was a tortured soul would be an understatement. His Ex had just moved to Florida with his daughter, and im sure he was feeling so alone.(his mother and father are both dead, and his sister doesnt speak to him)
