Back during my MBA I talked to a career P&G'er who had just retired and I asked how he was able to stay at P&G his entire career from start to finish (35+ years). He told me that while he had never left P&G, he had left his fair share of managers and co-workers.

Very applicable to almost every sector of the health care field. We deal with this shit with our suppliers all the time ordering things like spatulas, trays, supplies that walmart doesn't supply, and even medications. The OTC version of flonase (same size and strength) is about 1/6 of the price of the prescription one.

Those 50 cent tubes of peanuts are a bargain, especially compared to all of the expensive stuff that is marketed as workout supplements. Lots of protein, not a ton of carbs, and 50 cents beats the hell out of many (not all) of the pricier things that one could grab before or after a workout.

I have to order office supplies from some terribad vendor via an internal website, as we can no longer walk outside, grab shit and have it right away (there is literally a Staples in the lobby), and expense it in an effort to "control costs."

My desk recently moved to a very visible spot, so I ordered a couple screen protectors as I was sick of douche bags reading over my shoulder. These are shitty ones that cost like $20 each in a normal store. I was charged $180 for them.

I want to punch the morons I work for when they talk about cost control. They are so fucking stupid.

I can't even do that anymore. "It's a policy violation" is the stock response because they have no balls.

The best is when I'm paying for airfare and I have to use our travel agent and spend $8k on a ticket I can get for 3 on Kayak.
