I know this is way late, but I think this illustrates how ppl are gunning for CPL (most are either scared or jealous, IMO). USAP is supposed to be the beacon of all that is good and pure in the forums. It's all just so perfect in every way, yet inside it's holy walls TSE has been absolutely bashed (not saying he did or didn't deserve it) worse than anyone I've ever seen bashed in any other league forum. New teams that are a little too cocky are trashed by many. It is not uncommon to be told to fuck your face, to Benoit yourself or be told to do countless other less than pleasant things. Has anyone ever bitched about it to a mod? If it's happened, I sure never heard about it. Hell, I can't even ever remember a single thread being deleted.
I'm not saying that CPL doesn't have its own unique flavor, because it does. However, to pretend the things that happen in CPL don't happen everywhere is being ignorant (not you guys, but the ones that claim how horrid/brutal CPL is).
The difference being (and I think someone already brought this up...Ash maybe) that in USA Pro those personal attacks are srsdot people on srsdot people.
The key issue in CPL, really, is that there are two distinctly separate camps (the srsdots and the loldots). Most of the flamewars that happen in CPL are a result of that. So, see, in USA Pro when a srsdot person attacks a srsdot person it is usually about dots so it just gets passed off as "trash-talking". But in CPL when a loldot attacks a srsdot then it becomes something totally different and I'm not saying it is rightly so, but what it becomes to the srsdot person is ridicule for taking dots srs on a message board that is largely intended for srsdot talk.
I'm not saying that a loldot making fun of a srsdot is the result of a loldot trying to eliminate all srsdottalk from CPL but I think they largely feel that is what is going on.
I think more than it being about something different the problem is that the srsdot people feel raped because they don't know how to respond. In a srsdot argument if someone goes "you're a fag" they can be like "well my team wins more" or whatever but if someone in CPL says it and they respond like that, then 20 people laugh at the idiot who thinks that was a proper rebuttal, so he's even more abused and, since the loldotter doesn't care abotu the dots, he has no comeback to use and get butthurt so he needs to call daddy for help.
Oh yeah, this is largely true. Just the fact that they are srsdots gives the loldots ammunition and a soft spot to attack. But the reverse isn't true. Makes it largely one-sided.
