Bears fan here. The Bolts are my AFC team. I was glad they got Philip Rivers because he's a good guy. Don't let his chatter on the field fool you, he's very respectful off of it. I had him in one my classes when I was a TA in grad school. Very down to earth guy for how much of a superstar he was in college.

Yelling at fans makes you respectful? Then Ryan Leaf and Brett myers are the pope!

He's out there having as much fun as the fans are. You don't think the fans enjoyed being recognized by an opposing player? I highly doubt he said anything malicious to them. He was probably asking those Denver fans to read the scoreboard for him because his eyes were tired from looking at a stadium full of orange.

I can tell you are a young guy and want to be some kind of wind-up artist so don't expect very many replies from me. I don't get into it on the board with people who like to waste time doing that kind of stuff. Have a good season.

Not at all it was a simple question my man. He gets paid millions to rise above the fan level and not yell at them no? I do not see Brady, Manning, Mcnabb ect. yelling at fans (which I am sure you know, being an "old guy" is short for fanatic).

Hey you have your opinion and I have mine.

Eh... I didn't have much of a problem with Rivers until he started yelling at Cutler

Me neither, He seemed fine until he started yelling at other player and then taunting the fans.

Taunting the fans is all good to me, haha, I mean, I don't condone it, but I still LOL whenever I think of Shockey throwing ice at fans. But to seriously yell at the opposing team's QB while you're on the sideline is just ignorant

And I'm still calling for Pats #1 AFC seed with Cassel at the helm

Another Titans fan here. It seems A6 is full of NFC fans though. Interesting.

I love our smash-mouth defense and physical style. Our offensive line is outstanding and our running backs are solid. And then there is our QBs and WRs. No comment. At least we know Rob Bironas can hit 8 field goals and win the game for us when needed.

Last season, the AFC South looked like the toughest division in football during the regular season. This year, it looks like that isn't going to be the case, with the Jags' offensive line woes, the Colts' injuries and rust, and the Texans'... well, I don't know. They are the Texans though. Something surely is wrong with them other than their inability to have an RB that isn't made of glass.

IF we can somehow develop a passing attack that is at least mediocre (a HUGE upgrade, in other words), we'd be one of the top 5 teams in the NFL. As it stands, we might back into the playoffs with a wild card spot and get eliminated in the first round again.

Yeah, he got caught on camera taunting everybody in Denver. Like I said, he's a great guy OFF the field

Rivers is pretty good to have on your team because he's a vocal leader type of guy who doesn't quit. You gotta deal with the good and bad when you have someone like that. The bad is that his emotions can become a distraction if he gets too into that part of the game. He's just like Merriman. Those two got into it a lot when they played each other at Maryland and NCSU. In the Denver game, Cutlet was whining all game and crying to the refs, so Rivers gave him a very animated and over the top taunt. Rivers was obviously caught up in the shit talking that game and wanted to talk trash like he's some kind of linebacker.

I thought it looked silly because if you try to read his lips it looks like he says, "he's a big baby." I mean com'on Philip, if you're gonna yell at someone with THAT much force, don't use the word baby. Overall though, I wouldn't judge Rivers character based off that one game. If you want to judge his character solely on what he does emotionally on the field, you have to look at the AFC championship too. You get the good and bad with emotional players. Playing with a blown out knee is the other side of that coin you see.
