Not really. Although "champ" at least hails from the late 80s, early 90s. Especially if you live on one of the coasts.

You never answered the question though. What's the point of owning a team of 872 of your own players? I don't get it, since it removes the thing that makes football the best sport on Earth. The actual TEAM aspect of the game.

That's the only we he can keep the team going. Since he is owner of all players, he has not contract disputes, unhappy players, etc. I've spent quite a bit of money on this game, but yeah, owning all of your own players on your team takes the challenge and fun out of building a championship caliber team. He should go to hell along with Bill Billicheat!

The point is to win, slick!

Sport, Slick, and Champ. Are all of those meant to be insults? You really need to get better at that. Be a little wity, just like with the dog comment. LOL

Is it?

What's the point in winning if you have no one to share it with. And it costs you $800 to do it all by your lonesome?

Is "cochise" next?

FYI we have 12 people on the team and all play. We or I created players as I'm not willing to pay 250000 for a lvl 1. What makes the diff where the players come from anyway? You must think we're real experts at setting players up with a comment like that.

What makes the difference? The point of a MMO based on football is about the social interaction of a team. Collectively, winning is the goal. But only in the context of "collectively". It isn't the point of playing though. Why waste time and money here making 384 players for your own team when you can just play Front Office Football or something?

If winning the simulation was the point, this place wouldn't make any money - as there are far better and deeper football simulations out there. What makes this place a money maker (even with users like Dravz) is the people.

Edit to add my apologizes to Dravz. He's a tool - but my question was actually directed at you (krwynn) for populating your own team with 754 players. My bad.

Learn to count. Only 11 people can play on offense and defense. Like I said we have 12 people and all play. What part do you not understand?

You dont seem to grasp that only 11 ppl can play at a time. If we had 25 ppl that means 14 would be on the bench crying about not playing. This way with 12 people we have ZERO. More should play like we do. All you're doing by signing ppl is giving them false hope. I might ask you why you have so many cpu players. Being you feel so strongly about "social interaction" I'm shocked you'd take so many position away from "real" players. BTW, trading between teams you own or gm is a no no. FYI, some of our key players haven't boosted yet....scary huh? And another FYI, Dravz is probably the nicest person on here. Always willing to help and never says a mean word to anyone. If you can't get along with him then you have more serious issues at hand.

So? There are more than a few on here that have way more than I do.

My understanding is that in the game of professional football, there are 22 starters on a team. Whether they are simultaneously on the field doesn't seem particularly relevant. Add in the kicker and punter, and you've got 24 starters. So in theory, one could have 24 players and everyone could start. In theory of course.

I don't understand why you have 29 or so players, all playing on the same team.

Then the $800 you spent on your team would be for naught.

Eh? Every player that I signed gets snaps and is comfortable with the number that they get. It was actually a challenge to find human players that will accept a backup role. Not that you'd know that with your 847 players.

A variety of reasons. We haven't been able to find suitable humans to play certain backup roles. We've had the occasional human that asked to be traded away, and needed bodies in a pinch. Etc. Not having 842 of my own players, I face different challenges as the owner of a team than you might.

If I had real players - or was willing to take out a second mortgage to create 800 of my own players - then I wouldn't have so many CPU players. None of the CPU players are higher on the depth chart than humans (regardless of level) unless the human isn't properly managing their energy and I need to force them to take a breather.

Would it be less of a no no for me to not GM the other team, and to instead trade a player to a particular team because I was friends with them - or because I liked their logo - or for any other particular reason?

I can trade any player that I want, to any team that I want, for any reason that I want. That's my right as an owner. And I'm happy to do it when a player doesn't work out on my team, and I can help him by getting him into a playing role on another team (where he already had a relationship with the owner).

I can do that because I realize that I am playing a GAME, and not running a business.

Not particularly.

Evidently not, since you are so upset that krwynn isn't suffering as an owner as much as you are. Enjoy your pity party, nancy.

Why would you think that I'm upset with krwynn? Do I sound upset?

I'm just busting krwynn's balls because I really can't imagine wasting that amount of coin on a game with no real payoff. My trials and tribulations as the owner of the PAIN are why I play the game. I embrace them.

My apologies to you and krwynn though. This wasn't the time or place for me to mock over this particular topic. Enjoy CRUSHing the rest of the league with your team of supermen.

Me? So far, the best moment I've had in the game is when I hit refresh and saw that we beat the Tricity Cardinals on a FG with 18 seconds left - and then had to make a game saving tackle on the last play of the game as the Cardinal WR almost broke through the defense. If I knew I was going to win every game, why bother playing? The possibility of losing is what makes it exciting for me.
