RL issues get in the way of GLB issues

That Taiwan game clearly was surprising, but you guys did a great job. You caught up in the 4th quarter, and won in OT, so great game to you!

This is the play that baffled most of our team though: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=107953&pbp_id=6899503

Apparently, our AI was too stupid to rush on 4th and inches when you're in the opponent's territory

Final Zeta Predictions:

1. Himalayan Raging Yetis 14-2 (Tiebreaker won: Pts scored, since H2H Versus other teams that they are tied with doesn't break tie)
-No, your eyes are not wrong. Tiebreakers could actually push HRY up into 1st place. If there is a 3+ team tie in a same spot, the first tiebreaker would be Head-to-head versus the other teams in the tie. In this case, Taiwan, HRY, and MMJ are all 1-1 in this tiebreaker, so we would have to go to the 2nd tiebreaker, which is Pts scored. I can predict that HRY will end up on top in the pts scored tiebreaker, since they have 2 easy wins coming up, and they are already leading the conference in pts scored. The two easy wins coming up will only push their lead over MMJ and Taiwan up even HIGHER, and thus, pretty much giving the 1 seed to HRY

2. Taiwan Demons 14-2
-Despite a win over HRY, a loss to MMJ could knock them out of first. With a very tough non-conference game against S.U.F.C (Taiwan will probably lose), Taiwan might not be able to grab a 1 seed

3. Myanmar Military Junta 14-2
-Their game against Idaho will shape up the standings. A win over Idaho = What I have here. I loss to Idaho = Taiwan finishes in 1st, HRY 2nd, Idaho 3rd, MMJ 4th, and Blood Gulch 5th

4. Blood Gulch Chupathingies 12-4 (Tiebreaker won: H2H Versus other teams that they are tied with)
-They really struggled recently, with losses to Guam (big suprise) and MMJ. They also have a game that they will probably lose against undefeated Alpha team Kamakura Katanas, meaning that they will need to fight for a top 4 seed. If MMJ beats Idaho, Blood Gulch will secure a 4 seed (Wins over Idaho and Guam make the Fort Worth game not matter). If MMJ loses, Blood Gulch could see themselves in 5th place.

5. Idaho Hurricats 12-4
-They've proved that they are better than all the other teams in zeta, and only the top 4 stand in their way now. Their upcoming game against MMJ will be HUGE in deciding what team finishes in what spot in the top 5 (all the top 5 seeds depend on this game)

6. Guam Carabao 12-4
-With two easy games remaining, they are slotted to finish 6th. There is no way they can finish 4th or 5th, due to losses to Idaho AND Blood Gulch, automatically losing tiebreakers

7. Fort Worth 9-7
-They are predicted to lose to Blood Gulch, but easily handle Alpha team Bali Bullets, and thus putting themselves in 7th

8. Davao Diablos 8-8
-They are unlikely to win either of their final games (Versus Taiwan and Sura, tough 5th place Alpha teams), but that will still be good enough for the final playoff spot

JUST MISSED OUT:

9. Blue City Bruisers 7-9
-They completely failed to defeat any of the top 8 teams (closest loss was 14 pts to Idaho), and are probably not going to make the playoffs. With a probably loss in the non-conference game against 3rd place Alpha team (12-2) Palembang Drunken Monks, they are completely eliminated from playoff contention

P.S. Blue City is already mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, since they are 2 games behind Davao, and Davao won their H2H game (1st tiebreaker), so Blue City is out

THE GAME THAT DECIDES THE FINAL TOP 5 SEEDS:
Here it is: http://goallineblitz.com/game/compare_teams.pl?team1=3085&team2=3097

Myanmar Military Junta at Idaho Hurricats

If MMJ wins, the standings will be what it looks like above.

If Idaho wins, here are the predicted standings for the top 6 (7 and 8 seeds will stay the same:
1. Taiwan 14-2 (W over HRY wins tiebreaker)
2. HRY 14-2
3. Idaho 13-3 (W over MMJ wins tiebreaker)
4. MMJ 13-3
5. Blood Gulch 12-4 (W over Guam wins tiebreaker)
6. Guam 12-4

So it all depends on the result of the MMJ at Idaho game

Very confusing, so here's another look at my predictions:
-Taiwan Demons
MMJ wins, Taiwan finishes 14-2 and 2nd seed
Idaho wins, Taiwan finishes 14-2 and 1st seed

-HRY
MMJ wins, HRY finishes 14-2 and 1st seed
Idaho wins, HRY finishes 14-2 and 2nd seed

-MMJ
Win over Idaho, MMJ finishes 14-2 and 3rd seed
Idaho wins, MMJ finishes 13-3 and 4th seed

-Idaho
MMJ wins, Idaho finishes 12-4 and 5th seed
Idaho wins, Idaho finishes 13-3 and 3rd seed

-Blood Gulch
MMJ wins, Blood Gulch finishes 12-4 and 4th seed
Idaho wins, Blood Gulch finishes 12-4 and 5th seed

Does it make sense now?

Need someone to pat your back, do ya??

I am pretty sure that immediately after the game I was in here giving props to Taiwan. Should my whole roster come in and post the perennial GG comment, or is the owner not enough

Boy... It feels very important to be on MMJ right now...

I think it's possible that MMJ can land in the second seed if Taiwan, the Yetis, and MMJ all have the same record. They are each 1-1 against the other two, so it'd come down to points, which MMJ currently leads Taiwan in...not that it couldn't change.

Of course, we'd have to beat the HurriCats...and that's no gimme.

I find it a little disappointing that the tie breaker is points rather than point differential. The nod automatically goes to the better offense results rather than a combination of offensive and defensive effort.

True...

Right now, MMJ's pts scored lead is only 14, so it could quickly change

And I am all with you about the points differential thing. It makes no sense to have points scored the 2nd tiebreaker, but not have point differential as a tiebreaker. FYI, here are the pts differentials for the top 6 teams:

MMJ: 458
HRY: 434
Taiwan: 422
Idaho: 365
Guam: 342
Blood Gulch: 318
