Which is why you didn't make the All-Conference Team, right?

You named 2 left guards Einstein.

So by adding the word "right" to "guard" you shorten down the competition making it easier to promote yourself. Very good marketing job there my friend. If you want to compare yourself, compare yourself to other guards, not other right guards.

Two different types of players. A right guard is built totally different than a left guard - and has completely different blocking assignments. I still hold true to the proclamation that Jimmy Gatz is the best right guard in the Eastern Conference.

Because most teams seem to play their better guards at LG, due to the fact that the passing game > running game at this point on GLB

And The Great Gatsby was an awful book btw.

With the conference season over I decided to spend about an hour and put together a conference All-Star team. I'll be honest, I did not spend much time on positions such as FB and TE where it's difficult to pull up stats. Would love someone in the Western Conference to do the same and see how they match up. I mostly looked at stats for this. Don't rip me to pieces if you don't like it, say what you would have changed. Enjoy!

QB - Stefan Grant, Puvirnituq Musketeers
HB - Marion the Barbarian, Lancaster Hustlas
FB - Gfr Hönigl, Notre Dame Fighting Irish
WR - dorito chip, Sudbury Mountain Lions
WR - Kevin "White Lightning" Curtis, Notre Dame Fighting Irish
TE - #80 Zach Miller, Puvirnituq Musketeers
OT - The Bouncer, Quebec Quasars
OT - George Kunz, Notre Dame Fighting Irish
OG - Jimmy Huntington, Lancaster Hustlas
OG - Barnacle Bob, S.W.O. Swamp Donkeys
C - Smash Brother, Nova Scotia Snakes

DE - Ray Edwards, Lancaster Hustlas
DE - OptMegUs haz3L, Notre Dame Fighting Irish
DT - Da Truck, Quebec Quasars
DT - Warren Sapped, Notre Dame Fighting Irish
LB - Alex White, Lancaster Hustlas
LB - Jeremy Wdowiak, Hamilton Lightning
LB - roudy ramrod, S.W.O. Swamp Donkeys
CB - Han Ram, Sudbury Mountain Lions
CB - To Good, Quebec Quasars
S - Carlo Palazzolo, Lincoln Lucky
S - Les Drew, Puvirnituq Musketeers (Couldn't find a stand-out FS, so another SS)

K - Reginald Hoe, Lancaster Hustlas
P - Bill Shakespeare, Notre Dame Fighting Irish

no return man??? how comes???

KR - Smoke Brooks, Yellowknife Rented Mules
PR - George Gipp, Notre Dame Fighting Irish

KR
Smoke Brooks - 30.3 yds per return 0 td
Pot Head - 37.9 yds per return 1 TD

PR
Geroge Gipp PR 36 yds 658.5 avg 18.3 tds 2
Pot Head PR 54 Yds 917 Avg 17 TD's 2

Pot Head had 7 KR's so stfu there. Yes he had a TD, but that's like giving the QB whose season consisted of 1 pass for 30 yards and a TD the MVP award.

On the other hand, Gipp had a substantial amount of punt returns (4.5 per game), equaled Pot Head in TD's, and had a better average.

Edit: Both of Pot Head's PR TD's were against the worst team in the league in a padded stat game. Gipp had one against a very respectable Sudbury team and the other against Thunder Bay, who is bad but not nearly as bad as Yellowknife.

I see you have been using Google and Wikipedia. Well, I hate to burst your bubble but Dean Koontz isn't considered a good writer.

Who the hell is Koontz and how'd he get into this? Fitzgerald wrote The Great Gatsby.

And no not wiki, AP English Language in junior year of high school. Yes I'm only a high school kid. We read some damn awful books last year... The Jungle by Upton Sinclair (communist bastard), The Scarlet Letter which I believe was Hawthorne, The Great Gatsby, list goes on. Only decent book we read was Twain's Huck Finn.

And for summer reading for AP English Literature I have The Sun Also Rises by Hemingway, which is apparently a Gatsby clone. Oh no...

lol...Hemingway is brilliant but can be boring. Most modern metaphorical writers can be. He was the originator of the "iceberg" technique - used in his famous and brilliant short story "Hills Like White Elephants." I like "A Farewell to Arms" but some parts were hard to get through because of how dry it can be.

I was rather impartial to Gatsby and Fitzgerald - I just liked his original name.

There are tons of guys on here with literary referenced players. I was surprised to get some of the names I did. But some I tried were already taken. Like Cormac McCarthy.

I signed 3 players to my team for the sole reason that the agent had named them after Vonnegut characters.

LB Mike Misch is the best LOLB in the Eastern Conference who also has his first and last initials the same and has a personalized jersey with number 83 on it. And I stand by that. So HA

Trying to revive a fallen conversation. pay attention, we're talking books now.
My personal favorite: Kerouac. Didn't think to try naming a player in that line though, maybe someday I will.

thats fine.... i agree with your reasoning.. Pot Head will take his 4 1zt place awards though.
