Sure...but there's not much I can think of that would make any difference.

Like, game to game doesn't really matter for players? They're not going to go scout out every team to see whether they need +5 pass blocking or +5 run blocking to eke out a marginal advantage, maybe. Or they just use the settings the owner tells them to which is...also not great? I don't know, and I can't think of anything that would be particularly engaging on a game to game basis.

Yeah I remember postings settings in GLB1 for players to follow, because they were about overall team strategy rather than matchup, so I offer you this one in un-Will like fashion free of charge should you ever want to solve that problem on a future release:

If you have coachings either as a CPU or player class - one of the coaching attributes would logically be opponent scouting:

After the 3rd or 4th game of the season you have the coach "scout" the next couple of opponents as scheduled -

That relates to a drop down box set of options on the players card for tactics with players of a certain position:

So you have a DE , the coaching attribute does a good job and gives him a drop down for the offensive tackle he's likey to face most.

He then gets a drop down for the matchup against all 3: He see that Joe Blow Slowfoot LT is rated below average in footspeed he changes his blitz percentage to add a few more speed rush moves as opposed to straight power. Or for you offensive guard Death Mauler the DT is very power but power balanced, I'm going to augment the time I spent practing getting out of my stance and applying a hand punch and hopefully knock him off-balance before he crushes me.

The number of available options could also "scale up" as the player levels up , relatively few in rookie / sophomore ball quite a few the higher up you go.

To save compute most of the adjustments can simply be loaded pregame, for example a DE choosing to add more speed rush than he normally does, or an offensive line saying hey these guys are all power rushers on the other side my practice time this week was spent working on my anchor providing a bonus to balance.

A few higher end scouting techniques going on the pre-snap adjustments: based on matchup so CB gets footspeed on WR's - he gives a bigger cushion to Fleety McFast Foot and he challenges big tall powerful a little more at the line. Or a center sightadjusting and getting a "when in doubt" on who is blitzing their most dangerous blitzing LB is Elias the Destroyer - make sure we have the OT on him. Or a defensive captain going you know what these guys almost always run right in 3rd and 1 , I'm going to use that as my drop down and remember to remind my teammates bonusing runs to the right, versus using my drop down as defensive captain option to say hey on 3rd and 5 they almost always throw to the TE lets shade coverage that way.

It also gives you the added advantage of matching your Flex Cost per position with the number of drop downs per player (matching cost to player experience) You could legitimately use a few on offensive lineman and put QBs in a flex tier of their own if they have the most options.

Basically it solves the option without every tactics setting being a cookie-cutter option, if you have an elsuvie WR there is no reason to change him (ever) to power or north/south . There is some minor advantage to say - you know what CB Chopper Zed has great recovery speed but really poor route recognition and isn't very good at jamming on the line - I'm going to get more deceptive in my routes rathe than focus on clearing a jam at the line.

I have an idea. This will probably suck for agents who have a ton of players.

What if each team has 1 practice on the day off. During that practice, players get a chance too add a “game bonus” to some skills. If your player sucks at practice, he could lose some skill points. It would only last for that next league and ladder game. So it isn’t permanent.

It could also be something besides practice that the agent could actually do some kind of interaction for each of his players.

Good Luck, you're going to need it. I've been through this roller coaster a few times already- going through it again at the moment.

And therein lies the major issue with any kind of player activity.

If it gives a bonus, you have to do it. If you have to do it, people with a hundred players really really hate it.

Or they can just not do it and not get a bonus...skill points stay the same for the next league/ladder game. However, to make this work, there would have to be a possibility to lose skill points. So it would be a risk to take.

As it stands now, an agent has to update all his players skill points after each game anyway.

Yeah, that sounds like something people with a hundred players would be down with.

No...I like GBL2 much better. If nothing else, the graphics. I won't play a football game with dots "running" around.
