osiris is 100% right. if you want growth and development it would be better suited for a singleplayer game. in this low user base environment we need to promote balanced gameplay above all else

Case and point. I spent the last season trying to help out a new guy. Gave him all my builds and did what I could to get the team restarted on the right path. After all that they fire me. Gold trophies and gold advice traded for mediocrity. I have done more than my share to help new guys. You can lead a sheep to water but you know.

maybe i see it differently because im in the teaching tree, but you can’t do any of that. That’s not teaching. That’s like being back in school and looking up answers to pass. You got to where you needed, but none of the steps were made. I had a lot of people try and tell me “these are the current meta builds” when I first started and when it shifted I ended up with seasons of obscurity. Same with many of the older legends towards the end of their meta reign. i had to learn what the skills mean it terms of actual football, not the game.

At the end of the day, you are right. What im saying is that the long term potential of the game would be non existent. mediocrity would rule the bottom tiers and top tier teams would be guaranteed to stay top tier. the relegation teams would essentially end up as gatekeepers, and all in all it would become a classist society game. am I reading into it too deeply? of course, but we have to remember that the moment we lose better teams in a system like this, the worse the overall game ability thus appeal.

idk i think ive always looked at it as less of a “there’s not enough teams to compete” or “the teams are too mismatched” and more of what’s the direction? how can we as a community really put forth in this game (I would really like to here the developers on this one actually)? we’ve already spent so much money might as well get some new asses in here to kick you know?

I remember blowing teams out and then sending the owners PMs offering guidance. I know a lot of agents are just in and out often, but that doesn’t mean all are. The proof of that are the nine championships these guys allowed me to see them win. it wasn’t a one season process (dear god it was no where near a one season process) but at some point, these guys got it, added their own styles, and ran with it. you’ll have some gems, I promise

all we can do is all we can do

No we can do much more. What we’re doing ain’t doing it. This help and nurture stuff doesn’t work. They are going to lose and lose bad and never have anything to play for. It’s alright to be a casual player, they should be able to play against other casual type teams.

i show my full gratitude. there was a misunderstanding as to your release. a team that is inactive (my fault for not checking status) is in our league that you also coach for. i did not realize it was in active, id love to have you back on the team, ill gladly send you a new coach spot, maybe one where i dont have to scroll through your 300 play bookslol. im a returning player, one who has never coached more than special teams in my prime, having all of your play books is incredibly overwhelming. im still trying to learn what to look for on film at opposing defenses let alone even know where to begin with your playbooks. 100% i used the scroll on my mouse to select at random what playbook of yours i used last season.

i never ment to cause any hard ship. you have been more than the word help can even begin to describe and i appreciate everything. i will send you a new GM spot. i do appologize again. its been a very long fast acting day with signing every one, 2 people were inactive, one bought his own team in same league and wanted to keep one player on our team but fill his with rest of his. its just been confusing plus work. i know excuses but just know osiris i would never do anything to purposly wrong you. ive been warned that you are one of the hardest teams/coaches to go up against, if we get a groove going i dont want you catching it not saying you being the glb guru couldnt figure it out on your own lol

Of course, as a dot owner you should definitely feel like you can be casual on here. however, there’s not much of that going on. owning a team is a big step in the first place, if you aren’t ready for it.. you lose games pretty much. we can’t tweak a system that’s meant to be competitive and offer competition at a saturated level. that would backfire on all the rest of us who actually like football and get that there’s more to the game than stats and numbers. eventually we’d fade off, the quick in and out guys won’t be paying for the flex like we do (oddly enough) and in the end the game dies off.

I’m just saying I’d prefer not to ship us off to an early grave for a few seasons of fun in the sun (for those in District One, or top class I mean)

I’ve spent most of my time the last few active seasons being an experimenter so I’m always down for new faces to join whatever wacky football concept I come up with. Made a team this time around so I can go ahead and grab number 10.

Plus i’m also already in my own secret society coaching tree so I generally fall back on that when extremely necessary.

How is playing teams at your own skill level watering down competition? It the opposite.

I was asked to run D, don't know much about what took place beforehand. However, being traded for mediocrity? That hurts. I think I've done pretty good in my time playing this game. I don't consider myself elite, more above average, but not mediocre. I've beat "elite" teams, they beat me.

You're good, I always have said that. I'm a little frustrated I put the time into that team. I gave them all my builds, went over tactics and plans for this season, answered all their questions. Spent a whole season of that preparing for this season. Then they just fire me for absolutely nothing. They're ungrateful losers and you will lose with them. They best not cross my path. They are the poster child of why noob teams fail. I'm sick of hearing, "But Osiris we just need to help them out and fondle their nuts a little". I've helped and mentored dozens of teams and agents. they either think they know more than me or just disappear. Maybe 3-4 stuck around and became solid builders and owners. I'll continue to help new guys but that team wasted my time, and I value my time. I was looking forward to this season.

I consider you as good of coach as any. You got your work cut out for you now.

I could use some help learning defense - I'm clueless and the Chamrs suffer because I can't help much coaching, and am horrible at offense. I'm pretty bad at coaching in general apparently, go figure when all my time spent before was just making player >.>

This really pains me because personally im a f you type guy so this really hits the mark of what it really feels like. however, we should focus on the success stories because that’s what really matters. That’s what gonna keep the legacy going.

I’m a firm passive aggressive pacifist: if you cross me i don’t know you, nor do I want to.
