Bronze, copper, whatever.

Keep your teams. That's fine, but everyone should start in the lowest tier.

Starting a system like this with teams in gold completely undermines the system.

I mean we could do that. It wouldn’t be that hard to sort teams and get things fairly close. I imagine the quicker we get there the better, we wouldn’t want to continue to lose new players.

Here is an example of how Gold and Silver might look. Everyone else along with CPUs would make up Copper.

Gold

Alaskan Assassins
Kentucky Mountaineers
Golden State Miners
Northwest Storms
Northern Norsemen
Miamisburg Cobras
KC CROWNS
Jarvis Street Coffee Squirrels
Southside Rebels
Hawaii Bulls
Whoville Whos
LogZilla Boys

Silver 1

Dallas Cowboys
Miami Hurricanes
Hamilton Tiger Cats
Galactic Heroes
Nebraska Cornhuskers
Maine Ghosts
Miami Dolphins
Team Italy
Aikahi Tigers
Philadelphia Eagles
Salem Nightmare
Gliwice Lions

Silver 2

Calgary Stampeders
Raid's Lucky Chamrs
Cool Runnings
Sixty Whiners
Minnesota Golden Gophers
Team Italy
Something Different
Seattle SuperSonics
Lexington Horsemen
Calgary Stampeders
Green Bay Packers
Hartford Marauders

Osiris has the fair point the teams starting in gold we know will win large amounts all the time

Sure, I get it. But how fun is it for all the players that aren't anointed? If you're going to completely reface league dynamics, starting fresh for everyone seems like the obvious choice(and could potentially get old agents back in the game. Send out a user wide email!).

Regardless, it's fun to talk about. I kinda doubt this proposed change will ever come to fruition.

But shrinking down to three tiers should be explored.

How fun is it that those players that are not anointed taking needless beat downs? Keep in mind these are vet builds. If there are diamonds in the rough in a season or two they will take there rightful place. I wouldn’t really want to needlessly run new people off.

Drastic changes like this is horrible for the future of this game. Take notes from GLB1 on the drastic changes that has killed that game. The only changes that need to be made is advertise the game more so it draws in more people to play it.

That's really the easiest and least disruptive answer.

Could Keep Rookie, Soph, and then Vet... Rookie/Soph only play in their own tier and that would leave a bigger vet field.

Band-aid on a severed limb. Better than nothing though.

This game has no future. Not new player friendly and gets worse every season. Corndog knows what to do but everyone is to close minded and stubborn. What a shame.

How do you suggest that?

We already advertise more than we can afford.

What is being disrupted? Padding stats on noobs, lower tiers, and CPUs? People be afraid of competition.

New users don’t have enough to do upon first log in. The game is too expensive right off the bat to draw someone in - and not engaging enough. I create a player and have to wait hours to watch him play (apart from pick up games which are p painful to watch). Not to mention I can’t spend time tinkering with builds because I don’t know glbscout exists.

How often do we send people emails to their affiliated email? I imagine a lot of new users forget about the site after a log in or two.

General Chat was a great feature in glb1 bc it allowed new users immediate interaction, connection, and guidance. It kept people active on the side. I forget what was abused to lose that privilege.

And that pretty much sums it up. At least, far more accurate than the claims that whatever happens to be your pet peeve is the reason new players don't stay, like chemistry or route elusiveness not being good.
