I don't disagree with a fun draft in like veteran rank. You have a feel for good players. I actually wish the game was partly skill in building but also some blind luck so even tho me and some other dude had a similar build maybe he had a better luck player. That's what would make a draft around here fun. Players who are weirdly great.
What you are talking about is a mindless draft that takes a lot of time to operate for what exactly? Nothing. Unless it's automated and those players are stuck with that team all season.
I think this is true from the perspective of veteran agents who've been playing for a while. But think about this thru the eyes of a brand new player. I have often thought that new players should be segregated from the sharks for at least a bit when they start. Some agents will take these ass whippings as motivation to improve but the vast majority will give up and quit. Losing is not fun. Its like why more people play poker than chess. The environment we have here breeds chess players. It's not surprising that it's a relatively small group. I advocate for 2 separate leagues. 1 just like we have now, with max superstars and teams built specifically to run like machines and maybe no one likes that player you just built: the chess league. And 1 where everyone gets to play, teams are pretty balanced because you can't build that edge in the design phase and so RNG takes a bigger role: the poker league.
