From what I've gathered watching replays.

Coverage Tech is needed when your CB has lack of sprinting... They take better coverage angles and come out of their backpedal more intelligently and smoothly (with high footwork) to keep up with speedy receivers... That's why Chase Down is powered by it (only if it worked)...

So in zone the CBs don't necessarily need this, but safeties in deep zone coverage probably should have some, so they don't get beat deep (rare).

Man Coverage helps out with the shifty receivers and helps the DB make a play on the ball when in man coverage (On an Island)

Zone Coverage makes the defender react to the ball in the air better and play the passing lanes to make a play on the ball when in zone coverage (Eyes on the Prize)

I'd agree with this.

You would think this, but when a Receiver enters your Zone the sim puts them in Man Coverage. At this point, it is no different from Man coverage besides that Pump Fake and Head Fake both work on you.

Man Coverage helps out with the shifty receivers and helps the DB make a play on the ball when in man coverage (On an Island)
From what I can tell you only need Man Awareness to reduce the effects of Head Fake, it doesn't really do anything else. My Zone defenders still intercept the ball at a high rate even when I stick them in Man defense plays. It also helps OAI fire.

Zone Coverage makes the defender react to the ball in the air better and play the passing lanes to make a play on the ball when in zone coverage (Eyes on the Prize)
There is no playing the passing lanes in GLB2, you stay in your assigned area until a Receiver comes near it. If your CB doesn't have EOTP SA, you most likely don't need any Zone Aware at all because Pump Fake works amazingly well no matter the amount of Zone Aware you have. To the point of when it fires I can fake out 4-5 of my defenders at once causing them to pause about double the time a Head Fake does.

By play passing lanes I mean if the ball comes near their zone they make a play on it... This more so is applicable to zone coverage LBs because they normally jump and deflect or pick off passes that are thrown near them, or above their head; provided they have enough vertical to not whiff.

I know this is a classic CD response, but I'll bite.

If your back is to the QB, you are chasing a WR around, and reacting to his headfakes what coverage are you in?

I think cov tech comes into play when a WR runs through your CB's zone, not man awareness.

Well, we know Zone Aware doesn't prevent Head Fakes or normal WR cuts from freezing the CB. If Man Aware doesn't prevent it for a Zone defender then what does?

Don't know, are you in zone or man coverage?

so if you are in man coverage, you are in man coverage the whole play, Players aren't jumping back and forth between Zone and Man in the same play... This seems pretty logical, why do people think otherwise?

Considering that Head Fake only works on Man Coverage I'd say they are in Man Coverage. At this point I don't believe you actually know what Zone is at all.

Alternatively, Head Fake is bugged.
