I've been a part of GLB since day 10 of S1 of GLB1 and the first couple seasons in GLB2 everyone was just figuring their way through things, nobody really just "came" into GLB2 and started crushing everyone. DD was the best team for the first couple seasons but the builds of S1 guys are nowhere near as good as the top player builds now.

well i took two years off from GLB1 and jumped right into GLB2, asked several stupid questions in the main forum since the tutorials here suck ass and befriended some super friendly people who gave me the basics. That is all it takes to get going in this game.

Im not at Vet or anything but there is nothing special about building players here. Im sure there was a learning curve early on but we are no longer early on, and there is little to no learning curve left in the game, player building wise. compared to glb1

So then... .. what your saying is early on when you came over to GLB2 you began Networking and that helped you get going? That kind of helps confirm the statement you disputed, now doesnt it?

Talented pools of agents don't just fall from the sky. You could consider networking as a skill too.

no, He is saying you need to network to find quality builders, I am saying I networked for info. I just fell from the sky for a quality OC/DC to work with.

whatever.. that thread is full of pipe dreams. Any of those concepts can be tried any season. They arent making them because they dont work.

GLB2 is all about building a team around 5 offensive plays, and stpping those 5 plays on defense.

Building dots in GLB2 is much more forgiving than building dots in GLB, but knowing what works is much more of a mystery. It's been 12 seasons and we still don't know how to build good kickers (if its even possible). The staff did a much better job of letting the user base figure out GLB2 than they did with GLB.

I still don't agree with the "mystery" argument for hiding how the game mechanics work.

That's not standard in any popular PVP game online for a reason. I believe the frustration of watching players not perform how you expect has probably driven away more players than the "mystery" aspect has retained.

We could have more meaningful debates about why you should shave 10 points off skill X to boost up skill Y if we knew what they actually did. I wish we could debate builds here the way they do on LoL or Hearthstone forums.

I agree that GLB1 was more unforgiving with builds. But that was due to the process of the building which I would consider an "acquired taste".

So if GLB2 building is "child's play" them GLB1 building is like "rocket science". It's slow with a lot of trail and error and it doesn't really come together till the very end....and you hope it won't explode.

I vote for XARS!!! That guy helped me so much with the Creek Valley Beast!!!

No discredit to the coaches I have now, they are doing pretty well for me this season with the Hazen Hellhounds.

Xars and Mysterio. I've read many, many threads and these guys always have great answers.
