In 20 minutes we have a ridiculously exciting game in FSM vs GA. FSM won in the regular season 13-3 - but has historically done better against passing teams. FSM needs a win to stay in the hunt for #1 ladder rank in GLB2; GA is already out, but probably needs a win here to have a shot at a top 5 ladder trophy (they could jump LogZilla, who is watching today's games from home). Of course, both teams would like a championship in their first season at vet.

We also have another rookie matchup - Trinity Titans vs The Atlanta Eagles. Marvin is the heavy favourite here seeing as he has the #3 team in the tier. The old version of the Eagles beat PORN twice last season, as well as a number of other top teams. Trinity is not far behind at #5 as a balanced team. Looking forward to this one.

Just a caveat, I started game planning 20 minutes ago. And I don't think I saved the offensive changes in time. If I Trap Counter Left is ever ran, or there's Flood Left spam, or Weak I TE Deep Corner is run...then I fucked up.

I did however get the defense I wanted in, although I wussed out and put my conservative plan in. Almost went incredibly ballsy.

GG Richmond. Congrats on another ship! We just haven't matched up well with you guys in the last couple seasons. The changes hurt our slower runners a lot. I wish we could have made it more interesting.

Looks like you got your O game plan in... the Screens are absolutely destroying GA right now as we speak.

Grats on your first Vet championship AZ - and second overall with FSM.

FSM takes down GA with an exceptional offensive gameplan. On the flip side, FSM runs Cover 1 CB Fire like every other team out there facing GA. GA struggled overall in most situations outside of Sweep Right vs Overload Blitz.

FSM puts the pressure back on DA for the #1 spot in the tier.

Yup, lucked out there. My phone said I had 1 minute to go when I hit save, but the team page said it was already in progress. So I was freaking out.

In the other 9 AM game, Atlanta is upset by Trinity, who use a blitz-focused defense to stifle the two-QB system the Eagles run. Trinity's QB, Ty Spiral, did not have a good game either - but did just enough to pull out the W with four field goals, as Maxwell Gomez goes 4/4 as the game's MVP.

I almost ran a 5-2 on 1st down and 2nd and 5+, and then switch to Overload Blitz on 3rd down vs them, since I thought they were going heavy weakside (which they did). But decided fuck it, do what I do best, which is CB Fire.

Honestly thought they'd balance out Big I Sweep Left with Sweep Right. I ran CB Fire a ton vs Winnepeg Wrath against the 2TE sets, so I thought GA would try and balance that formation out. So went Overload Blitz to try and catch them leaning the other way.

There are a lot of decent/good defensive playcalls vs screens - it's just tougher when you're limiting yourself to 5-2 sets only.

I have only run sweep right 35 times to sweep left 191 times, fully expected overload from you. Though it should of run 90% of the time on thrid down since i had everything else set to 1 or 2.

The screen is one of the easiest plays in the game to stop. It's your fault you only run 5-2. You take losing about as well as Tdiddy.
