LogZilla proves the doubters wrong and takes FSM to the woodshed. Unguided had 22 hurries but only 2 sacks. That footwork investment on the QB might have been the difference.

Richmond and DA are now tied for #1.

Good for Richmond...I'm happy for them.

My offense is sooooooooo bad. I need serious help. I see his defense, it's open builds, I see my offensive builds...I just don't get it. It's like 1 + 1 should = 2 yet somehow it's coming out to 1.5, or less, like 1.25

I think I have a serious lack of comprehension with how routes, reads, and plays work against some defenses. QB's options are:

1) Throwing it to guy separating due to massive physicals difference.
2) Throwing the checkdown well short of any meaningful gain when there's no pressure.
3) Throwing it to guy whose double covered.

Seems like 1st/2nd downs is #2 and 3rd down is #3. #1 rarely happens.

There's a reason why many passing teams have to limit our playbooks. Sooo many plays just don't work all that well. Just bad routes and progressions I guess. Flood Left and HB Wheel were your two most popular plays and they performed poorly. Probably can add them to the long list of bad passing plays.

Really not sure how they were called that much. 11 playcalls from Medium playbook, 56 from Long. Should've been more like 2/3rds from Medium 1/3rd from Long. But the results are the results, clearly screwed up the tactics somewhere.

Anyways, even with my messed up tactics, I'll list 3 plays where I'm confused why the QB threw to who he threw to:
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/194887/2019428
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/194887/2019689
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/194887/2020061

WR2 is separating against single coverage. WR1 has safety help incoming. WR2 is even listed earlier on the read progressions than WR1.

I don't get why that's what happens.

Which is why everyone copies the same plays and runs them over and over. Gotta make every play in the game have a sensible strength and weakness vs potential defenses. It's for sure not there yet.

MMA is hanging in the top 10 but is a shell of their former self. Whoville is a solid squad that has the potential to beat anyone. I think this one will be really close.

You were pretty accurate. It came down to inches.

Never seems to go our way in these situations.

Why talk when actions speak louder than words?

Ok, just to summarize.

Against the Blitz:
QB Pocket Awareness > Pass Awareness
QB Footwork > Pass Awareness
QB Pass Consistency > Pass Awareness
QB Toughness > Pass Awareness
QB Heart > Pass Awareness
and
OLine Block Consistency > Pass Awareness
WRs with High Quickness > Pass Awareness
WRs with High Rec Consistency > Pass Awareness
WRs with High Heart > Pass Awareness

Am I leaving anything out?

Where are the trolls who continue to believe that I didn't build a QB/Pass Offense designed to beat the blitz because I didn't invest in Pass Awareness?

Better?

First play - situation 3rd and 7: Stop it at Tick 34.5 - before the QB winds up. You only have two receivers past the First Down marker. The FS is closer to WR2 than WR1. WR1 has single outside coverage. Your Pass velocity is too slow to beat the FS on the double team. It's a 25 yard throw at that point.

Second play - situation 3rd and 8: Stop it at Tick 35.5. Same as above basically.

Third play - situation 3rd and 6: Stop it at Tick 33.5. Same as above. CB3 and the MLB are also close enough to WR2 that you could say you are quad-teamed here.

Quite frankly it's a bad play on Third and Long. You need multiple receivers getting to the First Down marker ASAP. You have 2 out of a potential 5.

What's the Route Tech and Quickness on your WR2? (S* Dane Dawkins)

Oh and on the Third play, it's Q2 with 1:54 to go. You've had 28 minutes of football and your QB Morale is 45 and your WR2 Morale is 44. The Morale of my three Defenders covering WR1 and WR2 (past the First Down marker) are: 100, 89 and 81.

Now look at my next Offensive play (2 plays later): http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/194887/2020081

Morale: QB 100, WR1 100, WR2 100, WR3 81. Your highest Morale player in your Secondary is at 42.
