It's also probably worth mentioning that the fact rookie is so fun is because there's far more teams in general, and the disparity between them has not yet grown to the level of veteran teams. There's obviously some that are better, but it's not like the Stunners who would beat almost every single veteran team by over 100 points.

Believe it or not, the ladder as a whole doesn't revolve around the Stunners. They are the top team, but if only 4-5 decent teams outside their league ever get to see them in a season is that even that interesting? If they lose does anyone really care? If the ELO reset every season MN might be a loss from being second right now.

Steve is gonna be bored regardless of how you do it. Nothing but sim/play changes are going to do anything about that. It isn't gonna matter how you work the ladder, they are going to have mostly an easy season.

Why make ladder games a higher ELO effect than league?


In league (as an example) - 1-3 all are from Monroe. I would say anytime teams play -- it should have an equal effect on ladder ranking -- whether it is a 'ladder' game or a 'league' game...


And yes - you talking about increasing the K value again is a step in the right direction -- but I hope you plan to double or triple it this time.

Corndog, what's the primary reason to have previous season rank have any bearing on the next season at all?

That's not effective. Teams gutting and keeping rank are still causing this to happen.

Making top teams have the same ELO as the gutjob isn't going to stop that from happening either.

If all the Vet teams had started this season at similar ELO we could have potentially seen another team at #1, the way it is now teams get to Vet just to reset because the Journey there is more exciting than actually being there. The Stunners have played a ton of close games this season and lost 2, but they were never in danger of losing that #1 spot because they were so far ahead.

Also, it gives us situations where previously poor teams get much better, but can't reach proper rank sooner. TT's team this season comes to mind.

I hate that I got to keep claiming the "sky is falling" but GLB2 is going to die a slow death if something isn't changed. For me personally I'm already getting to the point I did with GLB1 where the losses stopped bothering me and I just walked away because it didn't interest me anymore. This game has a ton of potential but too many things are ignored. When you have this many of your "top" owners all agreeing that something needs changed, then it really needs changed because we rarely ever agree on anything.

Stunners have lost 2 this season. Is hburg at 3 losses? 4? I think mma is at 4 or 5. Same with da I think. If there was even a partial Elo reset or adjustment or squeeze - every game would still be important - every game would have me tracking all their games -- every loss would hurt worse and every win celebrated more in an effort to hang on to number 1. As it is - I expect we can go 500 the rat of the season and be safe at 1.

Same with most teams 6-12. We have like 6 games left in the season including playoffs - and most of those teams can't make top 5 no matter what. There is no ladder excitement. A fresh start every season would at least keep ladder exciting.

Doesn't have to be a reset...just remove all gaps on Elo every offseason. Won't change ladder matchups- won't Chang anything except increase the volatility

If there were a reset or 'squeeze' every offseason - this is what the ladder MIGHT look like:

#1 stunners (but only a minimal lead over hburg who only has 1 more loss)
#2 hburg
#3 MMA
#4 DA
#5 TT
#6 Run GLB
#7 Richmond
#8 MBR
#9 DD
#10 QC
#11 Whoville
#12 Run Defenders
#13 Wesley Chapel
#14 Capua
#15 Air Raid
#16 Battle Creek Mayhem
#17 Long Island Knights
#18 Nashville Sounders
#19 Ft Collins
#20 Tampa Sandmen

Not a ton of difference...BUT - with 6 games left -- still a lot of movement to be had. If the stunners went 3-3 -- we might drop as far as 5 to close out the season. Our win over DA the other day would have been HUGE for holding on to #1 -- and would have been a HUGE opportunity for them to move up...but instead it was mostly meaningless.
