Increasing Pass Power should decrease Deflection chances. Currently, it increases them.

That's only true for vertical routes. More Pass Power definitely decreases deflection attempts on other routes.

I believe that's what we were talking about? How increasing Pass Power hurts the most on routes that should need it the most.

With regard to spin cycle jacking up the passing game -- mostly as a result of forcing the QB into an early throw -- I think the first step should be to accurately report hurries.

If a hurry were counted/determined based on the QB being forced into an early decision --- rather than being determined by a defensive player getting within X feet of the QB -- we could really have a stat to analyze the pass rush.

As it is now though- sometimes the QB is forced into an early throw thus disrupting the passing game...but that doesn't show up on any stat anywhere...so is impossible to really track/analyze

Unless I'm misreading, you're suggesting that Passing Power should be an automatic reduction in deflections for all routes no matter what.

Right now it's all the passing power you have and the trajectory of the ball is determined from passing power compared to distance the ball would have to travel to hit the WR in stride. The change I think you're looking for would be GLB changing the code somewhat, to put passing power modifiers in based on location of defenders in coverage.

Of course not, but at least the passes are all going to different players from different formations and they are running different routes.

I tried both running and passing and even built most of my o-line for three seasons to be able to handle both.

I think they got it wrong in GLB2 to have blockers be able to focus on one blocking style over the other. That distinction should not have come from the "skills" part of the build, but from the other aspects: Special Abilities, Footwork, Toughness, etc.

They should have made "Blocking Power" and "Blocking Technique" without splitting them up into the "Run" and "Pass" sub-skills. They could have even included specific technical skills for the linemen to be able to work on. But by permitting someone to take run technique to 100 and leaving pass technique at 15, the designers of this game completely set it up for the unrealistic bullshit that we are now dealing with.

Pass Power should be a maximum velocity value that the QB can throw.

A good awareness check should tell the QB the ideal velocity to put on the ball to give his WR the best chance to make the catch.

That is in no way, shape, or form what I see from this sim.

GL HB Blast - 53 Times
GL HB Offtackle (Weak/Strong) - 290
Total - 343

GL QB Rollout (Weak/Strong) - 298
GL HB Sweep - 221
Total - 519

The scouting tool actually says you ran Blast and Offtackle to open up the Outside runs...

Nice cherry picking, lets ignore ga's top 4 runs not even being a sweep or the fact that offtackle was my highest run play, i rarely ever ran offtackle weak cause it was terrible vs anything other than cat blitz 2 roll and edge buzz 2. Oh and lets not forgot the 3 people hating on GA are running all pass teams.

I "cherry picked" the runs you were talking about.

someone needs to take a reading comprehension class (offtackle and hb blast were our staple) the sweep and to a lesser extent roll out keep people from loading the inside. neither sweep nor roll out where even in our top 4 most run plays (roll out wasnt even top 7)

That's a great idea. Change to 'power blocking' & 'technical blocking'. jimmy the bell curve so rookie ball can still see improvements - and make the cost get quite a bit more expensive later on.

structure the cost so that someone could reach something like 50/50 or 90/20 or 20/90

Offtackle and blast were the staple, but id be an idiot to run blast vs teams running 5-2 or 44 vs goal line so its going to skew the numbers.

Nobody is hating on GA. I just found it funny you thought you were taking some moral high ground and going against the grain when the stats clearly show otherwise.

So you want to cherry pick certain games to skew the numbers? Seems a bit hypocritical...

HB Dive is actually a staple of my offense. But I would be crazy to run it when people are using 4-3 or 5-2. So that is just gonna skew the numbers a bit guys.

Hey lighten up. It's been way too long since we got good USC involvement in a thread. Don't chase him off just yet
