#3: 298 targets - 43 PD - 14.4%

#4: 193 targets - 25 PD - 12.9%

#5: 139 targets - 21 PD - 15.1%

So - the PD # gets skewed quite a bit by LB's and Safeties deflecting fewer %s (I'm sure) and having significantly lower pass deflect skills.

(4 of those at 91 deflect and 1 of them at 77)

I'm too lazy to go through each of my guys for just those 8 games and figure it out.

fwiw, I won't sign a CB on HBurg unless he's in the 80s/90s for deflect/man tech/man aware

the attribute I would say people overreact to when building a CB is vertical

arguably my two best CBs have 27 and 31 vertical

my CB with 77 vertical has 40 PDs on 232 targets... my 31 vert guy has 38 on 273 (with only 8 more on deflecting). Their PD/Target ratio was almost identical to each other last season. Think the SP put into the +46 vertical was worth it?

Tbh I don't know a terrible amount of agents who promote high vert in CB builds.

MMA / Stunners (5 vs 1) has 2 games not listed here
likewise - HBurgs stats don't include 3 vs 5 or 3 vs 1

which does start to get statistically important when looking at 13 games. So for the stunners - that "top team" evaluation would be 16 games - all of our ladder - + 2 MMA + harrisonburg - jumping the analysis to 16 games (and certainly hurting our stats here)

awesome post - and a great measure though. Would be awesome if someday Stobie's scouter can do that - I know it was tedious

also kind of funny: apparently harrisonburg hasn't played Queen City or Virgins -- how is that for a ladder draw!

Not hard for me to add in just thinking visually how.

I threw something at you via PM a month ago to see stats for the positions of WR, TE, CB, FS, SS, etc. To see the percentage of a pass that is caught via jump and dive. For defense,a pass that is deflected by jump or dive.

More importantly, I need to know this priceless info before I build MBR V2

love,
you know who

well on that topic my cb on stark that last season finsihed with below 40% completion rate against him and is there again this season

nightmare troubles if anyone is looking. he has 90plus man awarness and his deflectiog his maxed i think 87 off the top of my head or something.

i think the deflection does matter and does work well on the interception part. but the man awarenss part on being able to react tothe ball is a huge thing for the cbs. if they see the ball has been thrown sooner then they can be where the ball is suppose to be thrown sooner as well. thereofre they can cause more unable to secure or actual deflections.

thats not that crazy of a line... most solid CBs have that... if you were rolling with 95/95/95, then I'd be impressed

there is his open. for short his deflection is only 80 and cov tech is only 80. but man awar is 98. makes a huge difference.

I'll be interested how lhf's corner performs all of next season. He's become quite respectable after his early season chem woes. I think through mid season he was something like giving up a 70% catch rate and finishing now around 50.

None of my CBs have that

How does consistency compare on some of these builds we're looking at?

Saying 60 deflect is comparable to 90 could absolutely be very true if we're talking about a a 60 deflect guy with 60 or 70 consistency vs a 90 deflect guy with consistency in the 30s or something like that.

Having a higher floor on your dice rolls is probably just as good as pushing up your maximum dice rolls. Either way, you're moving your mean dice roll upwards.

I do agree on vertical/diving. You can build a defense full of 30/15 guys and they'll do just fine running the favored pass defenses these days.
